w00t! :D
Bok checked and the filename of the raw stats file changed, and the format of the data was also changed. :bang:
It must be working now as the his stats were updated finally !

He says he'll polish it up once he gets back home

With a little weight shift, we might be able to take number 1 here, I think. ;)

Somehow I got dropped from the team stats, although the EON site still has me connected to Free-DC.

This is the current list of all Free-DC eOn members. Some of you have double accounts so I suggest you send an email to the eOn team to a possible merge of accounts.

OOPS Typo in client.cfg !!

Hit o instead of i in my email address

I have created another email account that matches the typo and asked for a password to be sent there but so far nothing has arrived.

They changed the way the data is presented in the rawstats file...
It is entirely possible we may need to tack on [Free-DC] to our handles...
Let's wait for Bok to speak up.

Bok and I were pretty heavy into this quite a while back. USD started to go nuts on it, with Fritz and Edco really racking up the points.... like 500,000 between them. Bok and I couldn't keep up. I don't know if they will end up running this again. If they do, then it would be a good race! I do think this is a very good project though, and Graeme is working hard to get this back on a good track at U. Texas. I've got a few systems working away on it, can add some more if the team wants to go for #1. I know I'd sure like to see it. I think once others start seeing that this project is back in business and has a good server behind it that it will start picking up. It is a good science project, and it is hosted by a University and thus helping higher education. I think it would make a good one for us to push ahead very hard with. :)

what is the status of the caching/network traffic issue?

i have 5 boxen now with 3 more being added later today

in the past, i limited the number of boxen and generally used slower boxen due to them all being connected to the internet via a single DSL line.

is the client still just getting one work thingy at a time?
i guess i can always run dnet in parallel in case they start having problems reaching the mothership

Graeme hasn't released a client, beta or otherwise yet with limited caching in it. I am running 12 boxes right now on eon on a cable connection, no network loading problems yet. So far the server has been pretty stable, I have more problems with my ISP than the eon server. I am also running other boxes on rieselsieve on the same net connection and have not noticed connection issues. I plan on bringing up another DSL line this afternoon, which I will start loading up to see how it handles the loading with eon. I will inquire into the caching client though. :)

Well I appeared in the stats for a few hours by changing my nickname to to include [Free-DC], but now have disappeared again.

This is frustrating....

Yep, seems like one is always shoveling s**t against the tide. I got an email this afternoon from Graeme regarding a client with limited cache. It turns out that he can't do it because of design issues involving the manner in which they are attacking the problem. So basically it will remain as it sits now insofaras connections to the server go. :( Oh well, can't win them all I guess. Some times don't even do well on winning anything. :(

Give it a couple more days. The new data has a couple of problems the main being that the name is non-unique, which is causing some problems with my stats.

The Eon team are going fix this as soon as possible and then we should be fine.

Stats seem a bit incomplete.

I couldn't find Fritz and Edco :jester:

In the last few mins I've been updating the stats with a new unique ID they have put in there for my DB. Couple of glitches but I've got around them. In fact your ID disappeared and was the reason I caught the main glitch :)

They are starting afresh unfortunately though, so no history :(

Check them again....
