Monster work unit [Archive]

I've got an 890 hour sucker. Factor in the facts that I'm attached to three projects and other cpu usage, and unless one of the other projects runs out of work, we're talking about 4 months of processing.

Is this unusual?

Yup. One climate prediction model is 3 to 5 weeks, depending on your CPU.

Doesn't make sense do do anything else if you're committed to running one of those.

I have NO idea why those folks decided to switch to BOINC - they had a nice thing going with their standalone client, and it's not like people are going to be downloading new ones that often.

That helix_von_smelix guy snuck in and took my team first place away! I guess I may have to start up a client just to take that place back. YUCK - the things I do for DC.:bonk:
