Does this project have a client (non-GUI) that can be used without having to go thru BOINC?

Don't believe so. From the day it came out with testing and all, I think all it used was BOINC. Not 100% positive though.

No it doesn't.

You have to use Boinc.

Seems to work fine though. No problems here.
