Hi guys/gals! Signed up on the project this morning, and my 2 systems have been crunching for about 5 hours so far. Like the project, stable software, VERY small WU's (I prefer smaller ones that crunch quickly).

My name on the project is Scott, and so far have about 150 WU's uploaded :D

Will continue crunching and I hope the project takes off ;)

I now have a problem. I unistalled and re-installed the client to get the screen saver, but now when I start the client I just get "WARNING: Invalid key" and keeps saying it when ever it connects :(

Any ideas?

EDIT: OK, so it was the screen saver doing it as I installed it without it this time

Hi Electrolyte,

Welcome to the project. About your problem, it is a little strange, because the client executable is the same in both cases (with or without the screensaver).

Can you please explain this again. and maybe try these steps in the order:

1. Uninstall
2. Install with everything
3. Try executing client.exe (without the screensaver)
4. Try with screensaver

and which operating system are you using?

We will be releasing the GUI version of the client soon, so stay tuned for more  and if you can explain me the problem, I can fix that too in the next update. Thanks for the feedback!

I get the following when laucnhing from client.exe:

No problems running the screen saver. Downloads the work unit and starts to crunch away.

Running Windows 2000 Pro SP4.

Hmm.. I tried to reproduce the error, but no use.

If it is possible for you, can you make me an account on your pc and let me know a time when I could try "Remote Desktop" and maybe solve the problem then.

If not, I will keep an eye out for this, actually I dont have Win 2k with SP4 around, so cant really check that platform.

Sorry for all the inconvenience!

For the rest of the people, I spent two days straight and we have our client gui ready, it needs approval from Graeme and some minor tweaking before I upload it.

Windows 2000 only has NetMeeting, and I'm also behind a router :(

Do you get the same message if you open a command prompt, cd to the client directory, and run the client from there?

I have a question. How did you un-install it? Maybe something got left over in a Reg file somewhere?

Another question is when you installed it the first time you unchecked the screen saver option right, then after doing an un-install you re-installed it with the screensaver option checked and now only the screen saver works?

Just trying to figure out where the differance came between what you had at first that worked and how it is now.
