Yup, hard lock up. I've requested Dyyryath and or Bok to take a look.

It's back up and running, but it doesn't look like DHEP re-started...

Maybe Miguel can get in to fix it so it's more automated. :bonk:

When the server is down (like now  ) is it OK to let the application keep running with whatever it was crunching on until the server comes back on-line?

I don't know. I have no instructions on how to run it.
Bok has been making some good guesses, but he's out of town. :(

I have no access to ssh out from the client site where I'm at right now, which means I can't get to IB's server or my own machine to get my email. Only from the hotel.

I restarted the dhep server as far as I know how.

Sao Paulo is at UTC - 3 hours

Yes, it is fine to run the client while the server is down. It will submit everything its done upon connection.

As far as I can tell it appeared to be running. But I think I've restarted it anyway.

It was yesterday, video card puked and locked up the server.
I replaced it with a new one. I just restarted it to be sure.
Thanks.

Hmmm... down again?! ...

IronBits

Yes, all sites on dBestern were up and down yesterday as Dyyryath upgraded the Gentoo64 OS and about 150 packages, to ensure we stay on top of any security threats and keep the server updated and finely tuned. We didn't think anyone would notice and it took longer than we thought.

I also added in another 1GB of memory bringing us up to 2GB total.

He will be working on it this week-end to compile the 3ware Raid controller into the kernal so the OS will recognize it, giving us over 1/2TB of realiable Raid 5 storage for our MySQL databases. :)
I'm sure there will be temporary outages as we work thru it.

Thank you all for your patience!
