This is version 0.3.9.7b. It immediately registered my client and it works now! It's actively TRACERTing and after a few minutes I'll click the GET INFO button to see if it graphs.

EVERYONE SHOULD DOWNLOAD THIS NEW CLIENT!!! :)

no need to push GET INFO, it gets the info automaticly every hour or so...

Is there an update util built into the install so that the client info on different nodes is retained?

No Meep...that's one thing they haven't done yet...unless you install overtop w/o uninstalling. That might work but no guarentees.

think i will wait - i have it setup fine right now, so i think i will leave it be for the time being.

The feature I would prefer would be a service based version, the java factor may limit this though...

I have just started up a couple of agents as services.
PCZ_4 and PCZ_5.

I will watch them for a while to see if they return work.

PS
The new agent actually registers properly !

Before I couldn't register any agent from home.
Agents would only register if I was using a public IP, so I had to register from a machine at work then use the conf file on my boxes at home.

This must have been a problem for anyone sitting behind a nat router, quite common in the home now.

Oh right, all of my agents are using internal IP's via a NAT or ISA interface, they registered correctly - however, I had to get in touch with the admins to get them to pull in under one main Agent name.

Let me know how the services work and how this new agent performs. I have not paid this project much attention so far, just let it run... time to give it some focus.

New Agent does measurements but STILL DOES NOT SHOW A GRAPH!!!

I am going to e-mail the admins and/or post to their bugzilla forum and see if I can't get anything.

Strange problem with the graphics not working.

I have tried the new client out on quite a few boxes with different video cards / drivers and couldn't pin down the problem.
I tried changing java versions and that didn't help.

Some PC's display the graphics some don't.

~Probably just a 'zombie' java process already running...
Kill it off and start the client.

There could be a problem with the jre : if you have a IBM JRE, it could generate some error that we haven't checked yet.
It is my next chore to look up to that.

I know. That's why I gave up DIMES. I won't trade IBM java for SUN java.

I have tried IBM and SUN java on my AMD...it will NOT graph. I put DIMES on my dad's Intel laptop and he had a graph within a minute of the client doing TRACERTs...

It's a problem with AMD processor computers me thinks.

I don't think so. I tried on a PII running Sun java and had the same problem.
