I've got a 6 of these and they work just fine on apporx 5 crunchers each, but for soem reason one of them has broken today..

It's relatively new, 3 months old or so, and when it is switched on it, after a moment it starts beeping and indicating overload.

I've taken everything off it and it still does the same thing.

Anything I can do? Or should it be replaced

Could the Battery be shorted internally? Switch out and/or test battery? Just a thought but I'm also just guessing. Maybe it was dropped during shipping.

I have 5 of them babies.

One developed the same problem as your has.

I just contacted the MFG. and returned it under warrenty.

I just had to pay shipping.

It was the main voltage regulator that went out in mine.

Mine was 5 months when it went out.

Contact them in customer support.

Ok,

cool, though I imagine shipping is not cheap on these things....

I'll pick up another one tomorrow anyway.

If I remember it was UPS ground and it was something like $25 or $30 for it.

HAY it could be something else.....

You have a voltage tester?

If so unplug the battery and turn on the unit. It no beeps, test voltage output to batter connectors.
If you still get beeps check voltage to outlets. It could even be the overload trip on the back poped out.........
push the button back in if it goes, beeps should stop.....the trip switch might have blow or gone bad. New at radioshack for less than $5.00................

Also, it isn't really that hard to replace the regulator, if that is truely what went out.

The replacement at Radioshack is something like $15 for the replacement.

But if its the main IC controller chip, then it is cheaper to buy new. IC main chip is something like 50 or 60 bucks.........
