I'm downloading now.

Edit: Looks OK. Appears to be marginally faster than 4.41f, at least on my machine.

Expect some stats teething problems with the new client. Always happens  . But your results aren't lost.

Any idea why I would continue to get little pop-ups telling me that a "new version (unknown) is available on the website, you are using version 4.42" ??

Stephen Brooks has released v4.42a, which fixes a few minor bugs in v4.42

There is a newer 4.42b now.
It appears to have broken muoncmd tho.

What the heck happened to your points, IB? minus 15mill? That's gotta hurt. Or are the stats just broken again?

I didn't do anything!
I'm assuming the STATS are just being stupid again.
Congrats on you making it over 100,000,000 !!!

I lost about 1/2 my points.
I sent Stephen an email and this is what he had to say

That's half of your total - I haven't seen a drop like that before, though I
did notice some kinks on the graph. What I can do tomorrow is get it to
recount your file. If the file itself is too short, I don't know what I can
do.
I've been a day late and a dollar short most of my life, so I'll keep my fingers crossed.

That was my comment, not stephen's, and outside the quote...

Yes, I realize that... when I hit the "quote" it only included yours, and not Stephens too that was quoted in your message..... So I was referring to his comment of "if the file is too short I don't lnow what I can do".

heh,
and I don't see the points yet either.

I guess about all you can do at this point is just cross your fingers..... seems sorta strange though that he doesn't have a better backup/snapshot arrangement. Doesn't take a person missing or losing too many points before they move on to other projects. Really to bad. :( I hope you get lucky IB!

A few of the Cows seem pretty upset as well. I've been lucky and only lost points I was expecting to lose having seen too many credited earlier. Really hope we get something better than "Stop running PhaseRotB"

LHC@Home seems to be the same sort of project ... ;)

Personally unless this was fixed and the project more pro-active I would never run it again.. then again without issuing a linux client I wouldn't run it anyway :swear:

pretty much sums up my sentiments too.
