I signed up a couple of days ago but never got the key sent to me, so I didn't mention it. Tried twice since to get teh key sent again but no luck :(

Account creation is currently disabled and there are only 75 users.

Also, if I understand the project goal correctly it seems redundant, and looks to be only for testing of PerlBOINC.

They are strictly testing now. As they need more clients, they will send a key to them. Otherwise it is a bit of a wait yet. They are supposed to be taking a run at the rsa640 challenge too, unless I have it mixed up with another project.

They have now changed their name to PrimeGrid and have a proper domain name

They are currently trying to factor the prime number RSA640 for the RSA challenge. (like lexx said)
This is to test the strength of keys used in RSA encryption.
You can sign up, but they will only send you your account key when they get to you on the list. They are slowly getting through everyone though.
