Hi all, we are finishing the design of the next DIMES agent, and would like to share with you what we plan to do, and get comments.
So here is the list:
* ping visualization
Using just distances, without the intermediate hops
* experiments batch files import
So that you can define a list of traceroutes to be carried out
* help
* faqs
Obviously
* statistics
Embeded in the agent, with flags when you discover new stuff
* google maps and dimes monopoly integration
Embedding the measurements of your agent on a geographic map, and allowing you to see which AS edges you have found out of all
* TreeRoute
A new type of measurement, that will take Internet measurements to where no one has gone before (more on that in the future)
* Tcp traceroute
Self explanatory - a traceroute which runs over TCP.
* database visualizations
Allowing you to browse not only your current measurements, but also the entire graph in the comfort of your agent
* install the agent as a service
Upon popular request
* graph improvements (clear , delete , freeze , browse, zooming ,
damping)
* result files compression
Save you some storage
* status bar/progress bar
Let you know easily what you're doing
* message trees
Same idea
* messages/news/rss feeds / chat
To get our word to you, and your word to everyone else
And lastly,
* BOINC integration (phase 1)
This is quite a full plate, and we'll probably introduce these features gradually, but we'd love to hear feedback and other suggestions.

Personaly I do not want BOINC integration (unless it means I don't have to install JAVA ;) )
