One of my team members had the same problem... Turned out the correct versus incorrect handle was a zero versus an "o"... When you login, what handle is reported there?? The handle you are using...
YES... Keep on folding.
I agree also with the point made by Mikus.
"When it came time to upload (-u t) the filesets from the beta, the server INSISTED on first downloading the updated...
On three runs using the latest DF program, I've seen 24.990 come up very often. In fact, all three run plateau'ed at 24.990 for quite a while. Is this an example of a chaos "attractor" for this...
Jeff,
Currently you reset all the statistic counters after you've reported them at gen 250... However, during a protein changeover, the "run" gets interrupted and the statistics are left over when...

I'm not sure if the energy level gets lower in general with this release, but the plateau effect still is in force... As the above graph from dfGUI...
Not sure if this is possible in all instances, but could you post a flag in filelist.txt or in another file altogether when you have a fatel error to inhibit further processing of that set??? But...

The above is the results after running from scratch for two days...
Energy graph reported by dfGUI is the energy value reported by...
I've bee running the new version on a W2K machine for a couple of days now. The dfGUI plot for Energy values has some interesting features. It seems that the reported best energy is the same value...

Sounds like you had a hardware error of some kind. Look back in your error.log and you'll probably find some file access error of some kind. Once that happens, that run is usually toast....
As the above subject says... Linux test version works fine on my Gentoo Linux generated using the 1.4 release. No fixes applied from release either.
Ned :)
Did this upload ever occur??? I just got the error:(

Ok, more calculations than previous client to do the comparisons... Hence, warmer CPU's.
I can see that you expected the crease energy to be minimized with the fitness score and that's why you...
Looks like Grumpy is right... Task manager reported that trajfoldlite.exe was using 136,844K. When I stopped and restarted it, it used 95,800K. A LEAK is present with this client... :(

dfGUI always reported that the RMS trended DOWN initially at least for the previous three proteins, BUT this is not the case with this client. It is reporting the "Energy" value, and in the three...
Although I've tried various versions of Red Hat and Mandrake, I recently tried the Gentoo Linux. It's claim to fame is that there are various flavours depending on the flavour of CPU you're running....
Gentlemen,
I did NOT see anyone complaining that indicated they were using Linux or non-windows operationg systems. This is a windows problem, NOT an application problem! True, the application...
Let me join with jonnyw's theme... Your system makes DF easy and fun to use... Linux needs it also... I have a couple systems using Linux and its not nearly as convenient or fun...

Halo,
I think most of my argument still stands. If there is a Monday changeover, a lot of off-line folders will be spending weekend time uploading their end-of-week and weekend DF work in order...

I for one disagree with the notion of changing the changeover date/time at all. In fact, I think Howard should have stuck with the original Thurs. at 11:00 am EST timetable,...
Howard,
For the Off-Line folders, is there any way to combine all of the generations of one set into a "package" that could be then sent as one unit to the servers? A lot less load for the...
Howard,
The bottleneck with the upload process is probably the database update process. Perhaps the upload process could be modified to simply perform a minimal verification edit then a data...
Back in Phase One, I had a machine with Win'98, W2K, and Linux all installed.
Linux produced 13% more than Win'98 which in turn was about 10% better than W2K.
So, same hardware with these...
Did you guys forget to build an index for your database again???
Updating from a dialup location is very very slow. Normally I can get 20 generations in 3 minutes or so, this morning its more...
When I saw the info on the new .exe (afternoon time stamp), I downloaded it and put in on two W2K systems that were processing Gen zero but had not yet reached the end...
The one closest to...
