I don't recall specifically, but a computer friend of mine that did said the temperature was just fine.
Yup, it was done.
It's crashing again ... and again ... and again. There is nothing in the error log. When I don't run DF, my computer doesn't crash. When I do, it eventually does and usually at least once a day. ...
No word yet??? :(
Just running my "old" 500Mhz Dell computer for the project right now and would like to get this ATH 2400 back on the job. :)
Thanks. :)
When Microsoft comes out with the fix, I'd appreciate knowing. I'm not folding right now due to this problem.
The problem that I was having before was due (or so the computer tech friends I know that looked into it feel) to the old video card I was using while waiting for a much better one to arrive in the...
The computer is a ATH 2400, 1 gig RAM, 80 gig hard drive, and is running Win2000. I'm connected 24/7 to the net via a cable modem. The DF program is located on my C drive and it currently have 60...
Been having problems with DF lately. Just now it froze up. When I tried to shut it down, it wouldn't. Not by pressing on the "X" or when using my Task Manager. Just got a blank text client...
CONGRATS!!!
As for what's in filelist.txt, here's all that was in it:
fold_pm9ic8w6_165000_protein.log.bz2
pm9ic8w6_protein_0167377.val.bz2
fold_pm9ic8w6_170000_protein.log.bz2...
There is the -df in it.
As for the servers, it says they're down for maintenance. As for my stats, because of that, I don't know if they're improving. Haven't checked in a long while and forget...
I don't think I'm using the buffer size thing. I might. How do I check if I am?
As for connections, it's on a cable modem that's always connected. I haven't had problems connecting for anything...
 I cannot post the entire log as it exceeds 1000 characters. I pared it down to just certain problem dates.

Now let's just talk hypothetically here for a second. Let's say ... oh ... for example ... that a computer moron doesn't recall where that folder is. Again, just talking hypothetically. Now if...
Text client on the Win2000 machine.
Run as a service???
DOH! Yup, its FD here. DF = Dumb Fool.
Where's the error log?
Lately, FD has been stopping on one of my computers. No error message. No other program is affected. It just disappears. I've never seen it disappear, but will notice it when I wake up in the...
I don't use Kazaa and have never used it with this computer.
I assume there's nothing in add/remove programs for the dnet client itself?
No, it didn't show up there either.
My programmer friend looked at this again and after some searching, we found it at C:\WINNT\addins\ntdall. The "ntdll" was hidden in such a way that it didn't show up when "Show All Files" for...
It seems as if DF is being shut down without notice. I'm trying to narrow down when this happens. It might happen before/during/after I play EverQuest. Not sure. Anyone else experiencing this?
Programmer friend came over, read your instructions, agreed with them, and shut it down. He then set it so it wouldn't start on restart. However, we cannot find it to delete/remove it. Doing a...
Where's this "services" thing you refer to?
I've got Win2000 and when I used its Task Scheduler, it turns out that a program dnetc.exe is taking up 99% of my CPU. I called a computer friend of mine and he said to click on the "End Process"...
