The general consensus back when PG first started doing SoB tasks was that the speeds were pretty much the same. I don't know if there's been much comparison between the two since then, but there...
Missed this thread. Not much going on with me, just have the client chugging away on a couple machines, one's an original i7 965 and the other is a Xeon L5410, both are running 2 workers with 2...
Ah, I was in a hurry and didn't thoroughly read your post, DOSGuy. Thanks for the comparison.
That is interesting. IF there were a prime for 22699, the increase in the queue could be old tests...
I believe the low number just has to do with the number of candidates previously removed by sieving. Primegrid was given entire ranges of n values, they were not given proportionally more n's to test...
engracio, you might need to post your k as well.
My trouble-maker is 21181•2^22976900+1
I don't think I can get my exact error values any more, because I restarted prime95 since they occurred...
OK, well I've put the troublesome test on hold for now and started a brand new test for that worker. We'll see how it does over the weekend. If the new test doesn't have any issues I'll just abort...
Yep, I noticed this on mine too shortly after upgrading (Intel i7 here, not AMD)
One of my tests seems to keep getting errors. It says:
18 ROUNDOFF > 0.4 of which 8 were repeatable (not...
Hey, hey - it's back up!
P.S. we need a prime find to shake things up around here! :)
At least I got tests for my 18 brand new cores. Now, I just hope it's back up before they complete. :)
I think that number is highly suspect. There is no way we're increasing 200k daily. (If it were we would have gone from 0 to 22M in 110 days instead of 9 years.) Without some sort of breakthrough in...
Make sure you have it set up to use 2 threads.
If running Windows, go to Test>Worker Windows and make sure "number of worker windows to run" at top is 1 and "CPUs to use (multithreading)" at...
Ever since the switch to Prime95/mprime, the rates on the SoB page are not very accurate for shorter time periods like 1 day. For the last days rate, I think it includes the time since the last...
It's not for a competition or anything, and the credit shows up fine in my stats. The only issue would be if someone else started crunching it and put "Free-DC" as the team name, the credit would be...
Geez, I should pay more attention - I didn't even know we were participating in the Challenge series this year...
I've been directing all my recent efforts towards the Dual Sierpinski double-check...
Almost 7 months later, SoB has crept up to 2191 tests, but PrimeGrid has fallen by almost half to 1165... I wonder why?
Well the problem is that the earlier builds didn't update the worktodo properly after P-1 was completed. So the first time you run build 5, it will do the P-1 again because that's what the worktodo...
This has reportedly been fixed in the newer builds of 26.5... See here: http://www.mersenneforum.org/showthread.php?t=15224
Yes, DaysOfWork=0 will work - the only thing I don't know is if you have to restart Prime95 if you change prime.txt manually. Usually I change this setting through the GUI menu so no restart is...
I happened to have a log file from the old client so I ran the test on Prime95, and the residues do not match so you may be correct engracio. I still recall something about being able to check...
I thought the residues of Prime95 and the legacy client are compatible, but I may be wrong. So there's no reason the legacy client can't check Prime95's work or vice-versa. I think the main reason...
Hey engracio! Welcome back to the original "Or Bust" project. We could definitely use your prime finding luck on this project! :P
Pretty much whatever worked well for you with Five or Bust will...
I e-mailed Louie, and he was able to fix the problem. You may have to close the client and restart it to get it to be able to connect to the server again (I had to).
It should be sb.pns.net, port 1717. I just tried it here and it's not working for me either. This page shows that there's been no activity from any old clients in at least 24 hours:...
Check that you have V5UserID=kfx in the prime.txt file as well as MersenneIP=www.seventeenorbust.com and DaysBetweenCheckins=1.
If your prime.txt file looks good and you haven't gone too far, you...
Seventeen or Bust stats have been screwy the past few days as well with zero's across the board for daily work, total work, etc.
