I threw together some old P4s and a laptop. Thought I might help you guys a little until the Primegrid Challenge next week.
Now THAT's interesting! We're seeing some movement from outlnder. Just a couple of boxen. I thought he had more or less completely retired.
But hey, it's all points for Free-DC, so it works for me. Bring 'em on.

Are we going to have a party
I'm here for 7 more days. I've got Kahlua and peppermint schnapps, oh and hot chocolate. I can also make some chocolate chip cookies.
Sounds like a party to me! And we appreciate the help.

Well good I have a game we can play. It's called
Get ready to start jumping seats
Dunno about jumping seats (sounds kind of painful), but we just put the on Xtrem Team Boinc Addicted.
Free-DC now in 47th place and about to put the stomp on Team Sci-Fi, Guru Mountain and Nordlichter, to be followed in a couple of days by TitanesDC, Coast to Coast AM BOINCers and Sicituradastra, in that order. Ought to leave us around 40th place overall.
I LIKE IT!
Having Lauren get fired up on a project is like strapping an afterburner to your butt!
HOME: A physical construct for keeping rain off your computers.
outlnder, they've been having a mini outage every few days. Nothing long or consistent, just enough to be irritating. Cure is to have a day's backlog of WU's.
Lauren, you're absolutely right. I had forgotten the lesson of that first "flight" you posted. Looks like the second guy has his stuff together a LOT better! I get a bad case of pucker thinking about that first one.
HOME: A physical construct for keeping rain off your computers.
Afterburners engaged
Keep it up!
I won't be able to calculate what place we're in till the smoke clears, but we're sailin'.

Saturday morning, we're in 41st place and Docking is having server problems. Lauren, I think we (meaning you) sucked them dry!
Sure hope they can get their act together.
HOME: A physical construct for keeping rain off your computers.
I show no mercy or give any quarter
Free-DC And I are the top out-putters today
This is from the Docking site:
"We are recovering from the earlier problem, but we need to keep generation of new work low during this weekend. So, you may experience work starvation for a while. Thank you for your patience!!"
You sucked 'em inside-out!

I'm filling my Buffers As I Speak
Found some time to Throw a few more Quads into the fire Box
Well, they're definitely holding down the number of WU's for release. Had my buffers set for 3 days and it looks like I'm getting about a day and a half's worth right now. At least the work seems to be steady, although I notice the newest WU's are also taking longer. Ah, well, we plugs on along.
HOME: A physical construct for keeping rain off your computers.
I set my buffer for 1.25 days
It Looks like Free-DC will jump a seat a Day
for the next 6 days
As of right NOW 09:54EDT on Wednesday, 11-17-10, Docking has us as #37 and about to three teams in the next three days, with more to come after that. So, yepper, it's lookin' good.
We be rockin' Although I've never tried playing a guitar left-handed, like the guy in the smilie.

Well I only have 5 more Quads the get back on-line and I will be at full Power.
I have replaced a lot of bad power supply's
>
Wow! That's a LOT of bad supplies. I wonder why PS's go bad so often. That's undoubtedly the main thing that goes wrong with PCs - at least with MY PCs. I just figure on replacing them every couple of years. Dunno - guess that comes from running the machines all the time, crunching Work Units.
Fortunately, they are cheaper than CPUs or motherboards.

It was the Hot environment in the garage and the High temps of summer
After I get the last 5 replaced I will run good until June=July
That was 19 PS

19 Power Supplies! Yikes! Crunching in the summer is tough. I try to watch for PS's on sale. Always got at least a couple new-in-the-box around the place.
outlnder: Thanks for the boost on yer way through, buddy. We're now in 36th place. Polish National Team bites the big one tomorrow.
Gettin' better all the time, as the song sez.

Semi-retired from Free-DC...
I have some time to help.....
I need a new laptop, but who needs a laptop when you have a phone...
Now to remember my old computer specs..
Sorry to hear about your troubles, gopher. It seems like most of these projects are created with great fanfare by the university's top researchers, who disappear once the thing starts running. An inadequate staff of underpaid, undertrained and undersupported undergrads is left to (under)manage the show. Professional sysadmins wouldn't put up with a fraction of the crap that goes on. But then again, a professional sysadmin wouldn't work very long with shoestring funding and dicey equipment. It's really a shame, but it seems to happen in a lot of DC projects. The Docking admins have been apologizing a lot, lately. That shouldn't be necessary. It could be worse, I guess. At least they seem to care about the users.
And oh yeah, Free-DC just passed the 5,000,000 mark in Docking.

I see two more Quads dropped off my grid
Now the makes 8 nodes down
I guess I know what I will be doing this weekend

Lauren, with your Thundering Herd galloping along, keeping count is definitely tougher.
The ride sure isn't boring when you're afterburnered.
gopher, that's good news!
Now if we could figure out what happened to the Bokmeister...
Guess we'll just have to keep watching for him to appear.
(Huge search to find a decent telescope smiley!)

Sorry, Lauren. Severe shortage of *moving* targets in your class.
Apparently, azc is still searching for a home. He/she's moved to L'Alliance Francophone, of all teams! Who knows?
