I'll put a couple of machines back on it. My network won't hold up if I put everything on it.

Nod, the uploads are shocking... 20-30Mb per wu, probably uncompressed too. I'm having to put my BOINC network communication on time of day, 21:00 - 06:00 t be able to work during the day.

I'm almost at 100K then I'm done. Credits aren't very good either..

Ya this project is only for the strongest of networks
Try to reduce the number of nodes working it

I just looked at this and I'm going to leave this one alone, I do enough :P, all this talk of massive bandwidth needs - I can see my uplink getting saturated for hours if they are big files, < 512Kbit upload. , yes it sucks not having a proper SDSL line or at least a decent upload speed.
    Semi-retired from Free-DC...
I have some time to help.....
I need a new laptop, but who needs a laptop when you have a phone...
Now to remember my old computer specs..

Also, there is no checkpointing, but it's really worse than that. If you have "keep in memory" set to yes, it should not matter if the tasks get pre-empted, so long as you don't actually quit BOINC. But for this project, the tasks restart from the beginning. It's as if they think the "keep in memory" is set to no.

yup. I've not got any other project running at the same time for that reason.

Well at least the WU's don't run for hundreds of Hr's like in RNA
But your right it is a Hard project to work
OK I guess I will Hop over to EON-2 then. Free-DC has fallen to 12th place there. I might Aim for 7th place for the team

I put three machines on it Monday. When I got to work today the network was so clogged up that nothing was getting work.

As a result I pulled the plug.

Try not to laugh too hard.

Now you can see why I have to be picky about which projects I run.

Good news. I sent a link to the speedtest results to my boss. He has agreed that we need a faster connection. 16MB/s download coming soon.

How's this project going now? I saw some horror stories on the project front page (re RAM usage), but it seems the new application uses sensible amounts of RAM and checkpoints! \o/

But, are the uploads still huge?

I haven't seen anything saying the uploads have changed, so I would have thought they still are. I stopped running it after I got my 100K though. Was fine once I got my wideband connection anyway

Every WU I've tried has failed with a computation error so far. But I got awarded (too much!) credit for them

The last batch I tried were bad, so I aborted the ones that hadn't started, and I think I got credit for those too

I got some credits this week and hadn't crunched anything at all in about a month. Took away one of my projects with 99999 < myscore < 101000 too
