    As I predicted, we hit 3 million yesterday.

    And we passed Team Muskateers.

    Next up, US Navy.

    If they get the ATI's running natively, I will jump in for the challenge.

    HD4870 and up run just fine but you must have .NET 3.5SP1 and the Catalyst 10.10 (apps) driver installed. Please note this is not the normal driver but it is the one required to run OpenCl. Also the Cat 10.11 drivers have not been tested With OpenCl 1.1. If you are running a HD4850 or below you will need an app_info.xml file to keep it from erroring out all the WUs. I have one if you need it.

    Ok here is the step by step guide,
    1. Attach to prime grid with one box.
    2. Go to your account there and verify you have the 1.4.838 driver (for XP32bit)installed. This is important as this is the apps driver which includes support for OpenCl. The regular driver does not have this.
    3. Change your preferences so that only the ATI gpu is checked and only PPS sieve is checked.
    4. Let Boinc download some work and then shut it down.
    5 Copy the following and paste it into notepad. Save it as app_info.xml
    <app_info>
    <app>
    <name>pps_sr2sieve</name>
    <user_friendly_name>Proth Prime Search (Sieve)</user_friendly_name>
    </app>

    </file_ref>
    </app_version>
    </app_info>

    6 Find the Application data folder. Under it should be one for Boinc. Under that one should be one for projects. Under that should be one for Primegrid. In other words:application data\boinc\projects\www.primegrid.com. Copy the app_info.xml into the Primegrid folder and restart Boinc.

    This is only necessary for HD4850 and below, Everything else works without it. Make sure .NET3.5SP1 is installed.
    Let me know if you need more help.

    I'm all set. I have a few pps_sieve tasks running on the GPU, but since this is cpu-only, I will be all set and starting at 1400 EDT (allow new tasks).

    Please advise if we have a different team plan via direct email or pm.

    Don't worry, the PPS_Sieve tasks were already in the queue. My preferences are set to TRP only.

    Tnx,
    C

    Cool Be carefull not to get burned.

    Ok, so we wish to play with ??? I will warn you in advance not to stand down-wind of me after Ripchen !!!!!!!

    FYI, the first part of the app is working. I've got it at 128 bit precision even on an AMD. The only piece I have to decide/determine is where to slice the FPDP to Fixed Point. Once done, if successful on both platforms will give us the speed AND PRECISION we need for all. At that point, I will ask the 'Heavy Guns' to give it a solid test drive to make sure there are no false positives/ fatal round-off errors. We've done it before, but I have to use a new implementation and cannot simply use the one I know. So it's time for a little 'magic' to make it different enough to be GPL-able.

    How long have we been waiting for such an app anyway?

    It is not the Ripchen that makes you do that. It is the sauerkraut that is traditionaly served with it.

    lol such weirdness suddenly got for 10 more days work, i forgot to set it back to 2 days work
    Has any of you a clue why i do not see points awarded for the challenge while i finished some more units.
    My rank keeps dropping for several days, even though minimal 4 or 5 units got finsihed and validated
    On the boinc credits all seem fine and added normally
