Thanks for the information IB . We'll get him there!
Roelof is the author of the much used SetiSpy program, for those that do not know him.I was recently diagnosed with a rare, untreatable liver disease called PSC for which the only cure is a liver transplant. Through this release of SETI Spy I am providing an opportunity for SETI Spy users to contribute to my Liver Transplant Fund. My goal is to raise $50,000.

I started using SETISpy years ago when I was doing SETI for Ars over at Team Lamb Chop. It was a top-notch program that represented a great deal of work given away to the DC community for free. Roelof was also always willing to answer questions, and deal with any problems or requests you might have.
I tend to view the DC community as an 'extended-family' of sorts. Roelof has been a longtime member of that family who's always tried to make everyone else's experience a little better. This seems like a perfect opportunity to give something back. $50k is quite a bit of money for one person to come up with, but given the number of DC addicts out there (many of who have been enjoying Roelof's program for years now), it wouldn't take much of a donation by each to cover his expenses. I'll be donating today.
BTW, props to IB for ensuring that the word gets out over here.
Good post IB. I loved SetiSpy. It was an easy front end to help newbies set up S@H.
He got my coin.
Maybe sticky this thread in the S@H, General and Lobby forums for a while?

Agent Smith was right!: "I hate this place. This zoo. This prison. This reality, whatever you want to call it, I can't stand it any longer. It's the smell! If there is such a thing. I feel saturated by it. I can taste your stink and every time I do, I fear that I've somehow been infected by it."
SetiSpy was one of the only add-ons I've ever used for a DC client, and I've run most of them. I love the application, and I have to give countless props to Roelof for creating it.
He got some cash from me, and I'm hoping to donate some more later on...
I've sent a short blurb about this to the guys at Slashdot. Whether they'll post it or not, I have no idea, but it'd be cool if they did.
The more exposure this gets, the better.
DP pointed out to me, this frontpage linkage at Ars.

I'm *sure* this will help alot!
any word back form Slashdot Dyyryath?
Nope. But they never do give you a response. Either it gets posted or not as the editors & situation see fit.
That makes me feel better. I've been sending them naked pictures of myself for years, and all this time, I've thought I was hideous because they never responded. Thank, Dyy. You've given me a glimmer of hope. Btw, you want to join a mailing list?Originally posted by Dyyryath

Yeah, I really loved his SetiSpy app. I think I'll send him another $10 bucks or so...

Got him again..
*BUMP* Heck, even if you never used S@H, this guy deserves some help for his DC work. Also a genuinely good person
