Ok,
we are doing pretty well right now, hovering around the 300M mark for rate. This gives us something in the region of close to 30T per day I think.
Currently we are 3000T behind the teams immediately above us, so we really need to be gaining at a higher rate to keep this interesting..
Anandtech have seemingly lost their top producer knocking their rate down to only 50-60M which helps us somewhat..

sbqueue is your friend http://home.att.net/~k.brazier/programs/java/sbqueue/index.html
All I run with is AMD
Just firing up some clients on this jobby... regarding offline clients and sbqueue. Is it possible to download WU's and transfer them to a permanently offline server, complete the units then transfer them back to a inet connected workstation for upload?
Actually AMD's don't suck at SOB.
One of my fastest boxes on SOB is a dual core A64.
2640mhz x2, easily matches the output of my Pentium D's
Note:
The old XP's are poor performers though, no SSE2.
On linux it's very easy as it's all in just two files, a zXXXXXXX file and a cache file. Windows though goes into the registry. It's certainly doable, but a little more work involved.Originally Posted by meep

I'll get on board as soon as I solve a problem caused by a Windows update(for the second time). I turn on my computer, it boots up, and when it's finished booting up, it pretends like I've told it to shut down. Thankfully, when it shuts down, it saves state before shutting down, so, statistically, less chance for damage.
My dad's on the phone with Dell, but I'm pretty sure Microsoft should be the one handling this problem.
Please don't let this response change the topic, if I need help, I'll post in the hardware forum. I just wanted to vent.
Okay, I'm processing a k/n pair right now. In a few days, my other project will finish up, and I'll assign a k/n value to that core, too.
One comment: I've turned off,"Turn in intermediate blocks" to improve the throughput a few percentage points.
I'll post my c/em's(no idea of the proper way to write that) as soon as it's been running for 2 or more hours. I've got Majestic-12 running, so there are times when SOB really slows down. I'm glad the cem's are posted as an average, that'll help me figure out how much I'm putting out.
Question:Are the cem's averaged out over the entire duration of a test?
About the comment box that the SOB client has: It only seems to update when it attempts to contact the server, so if you've turned off,"Turn in intermediate blocks", there's a good chance the information is no longer accurate.
Mine will probably tell me there are 6300 blocks left in the test for the next week or so, which is when it'll call in and get a new test.
Back on topic I think...
370M sustained!!!!
Way to go guys...
You all
Bok
Not much but it all helps.
on Free DC.
an X2 and a 3500+
Ah ok, been looking at sbqueue, looks like you can use that in a similar way to FAD. Use it to download WU's, export them to an offline SBqueue - that sbqueue install then acts as the proxy for all other offline clients. Bit of effort needed but would mean a single offline collection point...
Might experiment with it, be nice to get a few Xeon servers crunching too.
Xeons rule supreme in SoB Meep....
Yes, SBQueue allows exactly what you describe.
Bok
Do they indeed, got a few dualies sitting pretty idle in a certain corp test bed... might have to pay them a visit
Just make sure you install the service to make use of multi-core...
Bok
eh wot? I have been running multi instances on my dual core at home... im missing something
Check the k/n numbers... they are most likely running the same one, you only get points (I think) for one of them..
To install the service (on a commandline)
cd \Program Files\SB
sobsvc -i
then start the service as normal..
Bok
Yer got it, didnt check the numbers, just cancelled the clients and installed the service. Silly me, less haste more speed and all that ....best check the others.
Yer, K wotsit numbers were the same on the two clients running on a P4 HT box. Whoops...
Maefly?

and runs fine with SBQueue
Will borg 2 more tomorrow.
Looks very much like how FaD used to run on a network.
Can you flush intermediate blocks using import/export or do they need to be complete tests?
I don't see why not..
400M!!!

Sorry, Carlos . I'm gonna stick with RS for a while. I'm thinking of moving my pharm to another project soon, but it won't be SOB. I have a few peripheral machines on SOB right now. Maybe I'll kick in a few more depending on how aggressive I want to be with the new project.Originally Posted by em99010pepe

So, at our current rate of 35T per day,
Will that net us ONE 'P' in 30 days ?
Just trying to figure the scoring...
Thanks,

yup
Retro before Christmas?
Can we do it?
we need more.
I've put another 5GHZ of offline borgage on now that SBQueue has proven to work.
Problem is muppets here are all "green" and switch the boxen off at nights and weekends so borgage opportunity is nigh on zero.
We might make 50t today, if we dont it will be close.
724.5T in the last month, 272.9T of that in the last week at that rate we could hit a 1P 28 day period soon.
I don't know about other crunchers but I have 4 boxen working offline and I know Meep has several too.
Maybe there'll be a little boost to the stats in the next week or so.
It is a quite remarkable effort. I'm amazed at what you guys can all do for Free-DC..
Look forward to those next week!!
And I'm VERY interested to see what kind of output PY will be doing
We are currently averaging ~ 1.9T every update (every hour) right now which is phenomenal. 90 days or so for the overtake, I expect this to come down some as our average picks up though, how about < October 25th... (my daughters 1st birthday )
Bok
Go Team Go
Crikey we are running at 650m
Edit:
Now 850m thanks to PY's recent deployment.
I wonder if even Free DC might find that too much to to do?
Looks like 60T might be one the cards??

Yesterday we hit 63.944T
Our weekly output has hit 354.3T which is incidently more than Anandtech have done in the last 28 days and clsoing in on Team Retro's 28 day production.
Our production for the last 28 days has risen to 907.5T and this will rise as our pre-ramp numbers drop out of the 28 day period under scrutiny.
I expect to see our 28 day output hit 1P.

Lets make the push to 1G cEMs/sec
Well I can't find anything about Team Retro but the other 3 we all know Anandtech, the Cows and Ars.
Anandtech have daily stats for SoB so are already aware of our threat, but seem not to be bothered about doing anything about it, yet.
The Cows also have daily stats AND are already talking about how to counter the Free DC march on 2nd in S0B.
Ars, of course, are way up the road and even if they weren't they'd usually roll over and play dead at any hint of a fair fight.
So we are currently on track for 2nd place before 2007.
Daily average now over 50T, weekly stable at over 350T(no surprise there), last 28 day figure now up to 947T. Overtakes Retro, Anandtech and DPC, 61, 63 and 88 days. So could be on target for Bok's sprog's birthday
