Hi all,

I'm replacing my tired old server with a new 3800+ X2 using the Jetway mobo (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813153027) inside of a QPack case (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811144162) .

This is my first build using a A64 CPU. The case has 2 thermal leads labeled HDD and CPU, but I don't know where to attach them to get the temperature readings.

If anyone is familiar with this I would very much appreciate any help.

Thanks,

G

The hdd needs to be connected to the harddrive, try taping it to the side of it or trapping it between the braket and harddrive. the cpu is more difficult, you want to get it as close to the core as possible, try taping it to the under side of the heatsink next to the core if possible, not easy to place though.... best of luck....

An X2 should have an internal sensor like all AMDs since the first socket A cpu's..

Therefore there is no need for such an external sensor in my opinion. I also wouldn't try to mount it between die and heasink. I think the risk of the heat-sink not be installed correctly is too high...

That's what I was afraid of.
