So i have the latest version of boinc and am trying to attach projects...
I get to the screen where it wants you to enter the url...i do that...then here comes the problem.

It asks me for a proxy configuration...i dont know what this means...two boxes one for http proxy and one for a socks proxy.

I am on a university internet so im not sure if this has something to do with my problems.

Any assistance would be welcome.

thanks,

I had this happen at work (not sure if it was because proxy settings were found in ie or it detects a domain enviroment?) i just hit next or closed out of the proxy setting window and it let me continue...

Thanks,
Ryan

it wont let me continue if i hit next, or cancel. Another thing...when i start up boinc...it says "connection failed" in a pop up box.

hrmm.. if you go into ie, hit tools, internet options, connection tab, lan settings, is there any proxy info in there? if so, maybe try and use that? also, check the message tab maybe to see if you can see if that is of any help..

Thanks,
Ryan

::edit::
to answer your first question a proxy is a computer setup for either bandwidth savings or loging internet activity. All clients in an organization would be setup to connect to the internet (or more specificly http, ssl, ftp, rtsp, etc ports) via the proxy server.)

I fixed it finally...i just searched my computer...found anything related to boinc...deleted it and then restarted and did a fresh install. It works fine now.
