WCG Stats

I can't get into the WCG stats - links are not working at all. Is this due to the recent changes over there with the release of the Linux client?

I really miss those pie charts and would be very grateful if 'someone' could have a look :notworthy

I thought perhaps they'd made some changes - apparently the way the points will be calc'd for the Linux results will be different, and also kept in a different place. Will make things tricky for you maybe?

the linux stats are being exported via xml just like any other boinc project so that's easy (and I've already done it, waiting on xml feed updating correctly) How they are going to integrate the two, I have no idea though...

I might just end up having seperate projects.

I had posted a similar message about the WCG crazy stats in the team thread, but I see Bok found the problem, after messages were posted here.

WCG is on its way to being correct again. It looks like 2 days worth for today's data, which is unavoidable. The overall total looks good, so it should look normal again tomorrow.

2 projects might be easier on your end.

You just have to be careful of the inflated situation [(WCG+boinc) + boinc] if they roll it together.

I figured it out. Seems in my regexp where I was pulling the teamname, for some reason on AOA Forums there is a trailing space on the webpage, unlike the others...

I put in a quick
s/\s+$//;

and it's fixed it :)

I'm puzzled about something on the WGC stats. :confused:

On this (http://stats.free-dc.org/index.php) page, it says that Free-DC's rank in WGC is #3. For a few random project I've checked, this rank column is correct. But on WGC it seems wrong.

On this (http://stats.free-dc.org/new/allteams.php?proj=wcg) page, the WGC teams that you're tracking are listed (and I'm last :cry: but I digress...). That page shows Free-DC to be ranked #10.

And on the actual WGC stats here (http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/team/viewTeamInfo.do?teamId=G45XNJBR9N1), Free-DC is ranked #174.

Where does the rank 3 come from? I'd expect it to be 10 for now, given that you're only tracking some teams.

Default is 3 :p.

Short story is it's wrong. The code isn't working for getting the rank for WCG in this case. For stats where I do allteams, I figure out this number within the script. For projects where I don't do allteams, then there is a seperate script which goes off to find the rank. I didn't write this script personally, so haven't updated it for the newer projects. I'll look into fixing it

"Total" what is, exacly? [I've discovered that are Total Point]

"Today" is number of credits earnt today. I'm guessing that's the time between 00:00 GMT and now, rather than the last 24 hours.

"Last Update" is number of credits gained during the last stats update. There are several updates each day.

I think something might have gone wrong today though, since both those columns are 0 for all teams.

Points, using WGC's point scoring scheme. These will be 7x higher than the points reported by the BOINC client. (The stats show my team having 33,028 points which corresponds to the 4718 shown in my sig)

I understand that point are more significant that results, but I think that result data can be more easy to read and to improove tha activity.
The Number of unit done is directly connected whit the work of user whit not association whit PC power (that not depend directly by user)..

The data on both of those links is the same - it's a measure of points not work units.

Since different work units can take different amounts of time to complete, even on the same PC, looking at the number of completed WUs is rather meaningless. I've had some WGC WUs complete in an hour, while others have taken 8 hours - on the same PC.

You can't convert from points to a count of WUs, or vice versa, without knowing a lot more data about each WU.

As I've said, the username is whatever name=xxxxxxx is in the above link.

With the added complication for WCG that you have to remove any HTML formatting, so the + becomes a space and the %28 and %29 become ( and ) respectively.

Hi, Cool place eh, I note wcg's funny scoring systems got ancillary messinesses here too. thats cool, acording to wcg's stats our team is either in 347th place or 14th (total credit) depending on whether you believe the boinc format stats or their overall. in other words we had no points other than those we've got a boinc'n.
id rather see the less impressive (compare to all wcg not just boinc) that , and the mention of this fine indicator of progress (for dimes) mentioned in our teams forums got me lookin over here.
