Do what ? Make lights flash to sound?

Control many different lights via computer. I would love to be able to control 32 or 64 different sets of lights. One thing I've always wanted to do is make a Pac-Man chase a ghost on my fence out front. I know it has nothing to do with Christmas but the folks from my generation would get a kick out of it. ;) A sequencer comes to mind but using a computer would be wonderful to fine control timing. I wouldn't care about the ability to fade or anything like this... basic on/off is all.
