For those who have ever wanted to watch a CPU blow up...literally...

I watch Google Video around an hour a day now. When next year comes I'm not paying for cable anymore. Google Video has enough content to keep me laughing for years to come already!

All the way through even the table.

No way a processor could have done that.

especially since the socket appeared completely intact.

and, theres no way they could get it to nearly 4GHz with just that dinky heatsink and no fan. in fact, i didnt even see any smoke. (and notice that only the package broke, the die looks intact to me in the "after" picture)

Also the fan was not running even though it was pluged in

Good idea but it was rigged for sure.

The core did not explode but was still whole. Only the substrate went.
I don`t care what cooler they were using, fan failure or no fan failure, the heatsink wasn`t locked down and no Duron will run with 4.2v on it. It would die long before that even with LNG cooling it.
Also, the cpu went upover, not down, so I reckon they had the hole there in the table already and exploded something under the cpu, maybe with the board intact, maybe not.

I took the video apart, frame by frame. Easy if you`ve got the right kit.
Logic prevails Dr. Watson. :D
