I don't know how many people have Tivos here. I, personally, love mine and am looking to upgrade soon.

Recently, I discovered they had added some features:

Yahoo Photos, Weather and Traffic
Browse and Buy Movie Tickets(which I seldom do)
Live365(radio and lots of it)
Podcaster(there is no rewind, fast-forward, or bookmark feature, kinda sucks at the moment)
SameGame(simple game)
WordSmith(simple game)
Skull & Bones(Connect 4 with a name change, MUCH easier to beat than the Linux version, seems to have a little bit of AI memory of past games)

I really, REALLY hope they improve the podcaster feature, because I'd like to add some stuff to listen to if they do.

Comments?

TiVo is outdated already. My new DVR from Comcast is better. It's a Motorola DCT6412 III. Dual recording and recording in HD if you want.

Now the HD size is nowhere near TiVo's, it doesn't have a DVD burner, and it can't transfer (without a workaround) to a computer (yet). Yet it does do those other two things which I consider WAY more valueable.

TiVo IMHO is a waste of time and money because if you want those features in a TiVo right now you better be ready to pony up $999 or something like that.

DishNetwork just released their brand new HD DVRs. (Vip622)
They also just went MPEG 4 and have over 23 HD channels!
They also offer dual recording to disk with TIVO.
Cost is $299 if you don't already have a DishNetwork receiver to trade in, or $99 if you do.

They also offer all the HD channels plus 60+ Standard Def (SD) channels for under $50.

I've got an HD DVR from Time Warner, costs me just an extra $5 per month. It doesn't record to disc or is transferrable (though I'm sure that can be done as it has a USB port). It can record 2 at once

The interesting thing for me is that it's an ultrasparc II inside running solaris.....

Bok, on most DVRs right now that USB port is utterly useless. The people who make the software for the DVR haven't added USB capability yet (to my knowledge on Time Warner boxes).

Though if you are ever interested in transferring stuff off of there to your PC I think you may enjoy this: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?postid=3818890#post3818890

Also, anyone looking to make a DIY LCD Projector for MUCH less than retail (though it won't be so chromy and wicked unless you're an awesome fabricator): http://www.diyprojectorcompany.com/

If it has a Firewire port, I hear MACs see it as a removable device which allows you to copy to from it with ease ;)
