A sad day at Casa Foz

my cat had a stroke today and we had to have him put down. He was a good friend and lived a good life.

I'll miss him more than many of you non-pet owners will know.

We lost 2 cats and a dog in the same year, so I feel your pain.

I can feel for you. I've had 4 dogs so far. Two of them that have been hit by cars, one we had to put to sleep, and luckily, our fourth is still alive and kicking.

Had my dog put down a few years ago, will never forget the look on her face at the vets, she knew exactly what was going on.

Oh sweetie. I'm so sorry for your loss. Pets are so much like our children aren't they? We've got three dogs and an assortment of other animials, and even have fish. When I lose an animal, of any type, it hurts. Bless you.

Foz, I am sorry to hear that but not to sound insensitive, how did you know your cat got a stroke?

I keep trying to convince my parents to get a dog, at the moment we have two cats which might turn into three if my grandmother ever decides to travel.

Remember, dogs think YOU'RE God, while cats think THEY'RE God.

We found Tim all disorientated and not knowing which way was up and took him down to the vet. They said it was either inner ear or a stroke brought on by a tumour.

Either way Tim was in a lot of distress and we only had one choice.:cry:

I know how you feel about losing your cat Fozzie, just a few weeks ago I had to make the decision to do the same thing to one of our cats. He was my best buddy around the house, following me all over like a little puppy.

He would lay where ever I was laying and jump in the chair with me when I watched TV. One day he seemed fine & then the next he was like your cat, all disorientated with what seemed like no strength at all to hold himself up.

I knew right away it had something to do with his kidneys from previous experiences with cats. I took him to the Veterinarian & after examining him the Vet told me he had a Tumor on his Kidney. He said all he could do for him was make him feel a little better for now but in the end I would have to have him put to sleep.

So sadly I made the decision right then to have it done right away rather than have to have him just feel a little better for awhile and then regress again to feel bad again. I held him while the Vet injected the solution into him & the last thing my little buddy did was look up at me & then pass away in my arms. I'll always remember him & the moment I lost him ... :(

I've lost a few pets in my lifetime. It always really sucks. My condolences.
