On a Windows 2003 network, running Active Directory, with thousands of Servers...
All of a sudden, hostnames are being changed by ???? to be all the SAME, which you know is effectively taking down the Servers one by one.

Clues?????

Wow, thats wierd... anything in the event logs to clue you in?

Dunno, IB. Haven't seen anything like that in bulletins and don't have a matching description on any known badbugs. If it's an exploit, it must be something new. Just been through my list of virus sites and can't find anything close.

Nothing obvious in the logs, been going on for two days.
I haven't heard of this before either, and have not found anything anywhere on this rare pesky bug yet.
