Suggestions Please

A friend of mine is about to upgrade his system
at the moment no idea what proc / mobo but Im sure he's running 4 EIDE chans on the board. He's looking to upgrade to AMD 64 3Ghz+ system pref AMD X2 with 1.5Gb Ram.
Dual Core needed for faster recoding of video.

Any ideas?

I don't think they have a 3.0 Ghz X2 CPU out yet.
AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800+ 2.4GHz
or
AMD ATHLON 64 FX 60 DUAL CORE 2.6GHz

the right stepping Opterons are dual core and get 2.7 on air. Strech that to 3 ghz on water.

What I mean was 3Ghz or better as in 3Ghz+ AMD 64 (X2 pref)
