Just to inform fellow crunchers...

Official UD announcement here (http://forum.ud.com/ubbcgi/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=22;t=000051)

This phase uses LigandFit (something like Autodock or engine TSC/D2OL is using) on molecules screened by THINK in ph.1 in order to recognize them better.

To anyone who may be interested...

I'm still running one beta on another project & waiting on DF to start Phase II. Meanwhile, I found that our team here had slipped so far down that Statsman didn't cover even it anymore! Sheesh! This is not good.

I found the team at 1050th place and slipping. It's got 3 or 4 regulars who seldom, if ever, post on this forum AFAIK. So I threw in a couple of boxen & have helped them start back up the ramp. I'd like to at least see it back into Statsman territory.

Anyone with a Winders box is welcome! Very stable client. :D

You can find us on the stats page HERE (http://www.grid.org/stats/teams/points.htm?rsps=250&rscp=5)

Oh yeah, I passed Ole Target Butt, too. :moon:

If you need any help, feel free to ask me. Running the Team Crab Cake site for the last two months has given me alot of knowledge. Of course, there are a couple of point boosting haelpful hints on our team website (http://www.teamcrabcake.org)

Indeed, indeed! Good to hear from ya!

These durn forums can be downright addicting if you don't watch it. However, they really ARE a good source of computer info, help, news, and encouragement. Glad you're here!

#1241 here :(

Stats are not updated regularly it appears :(

Usually (!) overnight. Being updated as I post this, matter of fact.
Ain't quick & only happens sporadically on weekends, but wachagonnadoo?

magicfan241

The stats should be updating daily. They had just come off a period of major problems, with no stats updates for four(!) days. I know that their stats engine takes about 3 hours to update the whole database, so it takes a while for everything to sink in.

Wow, when the cavalry rides in, it doesn't mean just a couple of horses. Or at least, if it's a few horses, they're really, really big ones. :notworthy

I think that they have brought in the Budweiser Clydesdale horses. Better watch out. :p

Jeez, IB. That wasn't just the blue pills; that was the whole damn pharmacy! :scared:

BTW, do like magicfan said and go take a look at their FAQ's, if you didn't already. Makes a big difference in points.

Thanks guys, U crack me up! LOL! :)
Go Team Go

The few devices I have, are all configured for 10GB storage. :)

They should offer more choices on bandwidth...
There is a big jump/difference between cablemodem and T1-Lan...
I'm some where in the middle, and I heard choosing T1 gives more points, so that's what I used.
/me shrugs

Have you had yours today? :D

IB: The network score is based on the speed of data transfered from UD central to your computer. It has very little to do with what your network speed is put down as.

Good job on the roll toward statsman ranking!!

# 990 Free-DC 1,656,914

Statsman lists our Team Rank at # 740.
http://www.statsman.org/udstats/html
If you click our Team Name, it hasn't updated the dailies since 5-23 :(
Even tho it says the page was last updated correctly

But no matter, we are there! :|party|:

That's REALLY strange! If you hit the browser Refresh button BTW, the team-members' stats get up to date. But I have no idea how we can be 740th and 990th. Somebody has a glitch in their math!

As you say, though, Free-DC is back in the good. Another few days' heavy crunchin' should ensure it stays there for a while. :D

It looks like Statsman goofed after place 250.
There is about a two million drop between place 250 and 251.
It sure would be nice though.

That means will have to go backwards so we can go forwards! :scared: ;)

Well, actually #983, with Statsman's little glitch. This from the UD site...

980 iCE Advertisements 1,679,862
981 IBM SPC - San Mateo 1,676,524
982 Louisiana 1,676,310
983 Free-DC 1,675,010
984 Kiwi Microsystems 1,673,454
985 MTW Hooligans 1,673,123
986 NYMU Taiwan 1,671,659

but, as you say, definitely a LARGE step in the right direction. :D

I hear ya, Magicfan241. Not sure why this project isn't more popular with our regulars. The client doesn't use much memory and is stable as a rock! It's direct protein engineering, not blue-sky basic research like Distributed Folding. It's got a popular theme, curing cancer. It's a mystery, but there you have it. Maybe the clue is in here (http://www.onlamp.com/pub/a/onlamp/2003/05/22/distributed.html) . Some groups just go for different challenges.

Anyhow, I'm gonna stay on it for a while, at least. DF Phase II will be starting next week, but I ain't gonna rush it.

If they had a command line client without all the GUI... ;)
And it didn't need to be 'installed' and had a local .ini file we could edit... ;)

I found the problem in the STATS - I let Randy know about it.
http://www.hardforums.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=620822

Still appears to be a problem in that the Team Rank on the Official stats don't match what's shown on statsman.
It appears you are missing 249 entries between 251 and 500.

Up to and including Rank 250, all is well
Rank 250 = Ingeniøren|net both Official and Statsman match

Then the problem begins
Rank 251 = AcmeCargo on Statsman
Rank 501 = AcmeCargo on the official stats

Rank 252 = Altitude Team - Statsman
Rank 502 = Altitude Team - Official

Then again, it might be the Official Stats that are fubar!

I agree, but it's still a pretty easy client to install & live with.

As for the stats, I saw Randy's reply, but notice the point jump on Statsman:

250 Ingeniøren|net 5,324,472
251 AcmeCargo 2,997,409

Rather a largish gap, wouldn't you say? :p

Heck yes, it's easy to run! I was surprised at how well it installed, and how stable it was. Didn't have any problems to speak of.
If the install goes right the first time...
I had two that didn't want to play, so uninstalled and reinstalled and it took right off.

erm, slight margin of error indeed ;)
Randy hasn't responded to my last message to his response yet ...

I'll be back... I'm just kicking the tires on most of the projects, helping where I can,
waiting for DF to be released to see what that's gonna look like and how it's gonna run.
I'm ready for some boring clients to run... :)
That FAH client can be pretty cantankerous on AMD computers.

I'd also like to see the whole Team settle down and focus on one project again like we did with DF a while back, for a little while at least...
Just so many to choose from. :bang:

Team Number????????

Go back to OGR, IB.

On a better note, I have started taking screenshots of important parts of installation. I am looking a July 1st release date for both here and at ARS.

I see if I can rush for a June .... completion date. I know that you have to morph the directions so it fits you guys theme.
