Bok -
I know that vbulletin supports RSS feeds for topics/forums/etc. Is there any way that we can get them enabled for the Free-DC forum(s)? It would definitely save me some time :)
Enabled, but we'll see how it goes...

Is it just me, or is this not working correctly? The feed doesn't seem to update for me unless I forcibly reload it and even then I'm not sure it is displaying the correct topics. Should all the BOINC project news be on it?

Delete your cookies then, as it works too well for the rest of us that don't care to see the Boinc rss feeds ;)

Are you saying that the BOINC news should be appearing on the RSS feed or not? They are showing for me.
I believe it should show every post on it..
I take it you are looking at this page (http://www.free-dc.org/forum/external.php) right ?
It would be up to your individual rss reader to update it though..
Or are you talking about the rss feeds coming into the forums, such as the boinc project news (and I haven't created an rss feed for some of the projects yet..)

Okay, that is a really bizarre question. Not because I think you're stupid, I definitely don't think you're stupid. It's just that when I see BOINC news with your name on it, I've always assumed it's because you've made some sort of script that automatically scrapes(special term for collecting RSS feed stuff) feeds and posts them.
Now I'm just confused. How does the BOINC news in the BOINC forum get your name on it? Do you collect it manually?

Yes, that's the page I'm subscribed to. I'm just using Firefox 3 for it, but it doesn't seem to get new posts unless I forcibly reload it. Also, because it is getting all BOINC news and Firefox is only showing a summary of 15, 80%+ of those are Distributed Proofreading half the time.
All my other subscriptions (such as Slashdot) update themselves without being touched.

:rotfl::rotfl::lmao: Now that is the funniest Thing I have heard in a long time
You Must be getting me confused with . IB
I Could Never Write a Scrip No No No
If I did It would most likely turn into some kind of virus that wipes out all life as we know it :stretcher
I have a hard time just filling out a report :looney:
vbulletin allows for individual rss feeds to be set up, which will go off and bring back the latest news (like any rss reader) and insert the posts..
I set one up for each Boinc project as an rss feed comes as standard with every Boinc project. vbulletin allows me to choose which username posts the info, so I spread them round a little, based on a VERY rough thought it my head of a user who was active in that particular project..

I believe you can add forumids=x,y,z to the end of the feed to include just those forums that you wish to monitor. As for the reload, I'm unsure, would have to google that a bit or post on the vbulletin website.. I'll have a look around

Possibly also RSS reader in FF 3 is borked, I know sometimes it did it with a feed from another forum I'm on in FF 2, RSS feeds never to be relied on sometimes they don't appear to update till a refresh..
