I am installing sb on a newer releases of linux...specifically Fedora Core 5. The FC5 release is based on the newer gcc 4.x compiler, and the default library is libstdc++.so.6. Any chance to get a newer compile of the sb client for the newer versions of the linux operating systems?

In the meantime you may want to do something like this if you just want to get it working for now.

I unfortunately do not have permission to modify/change/load system (library) files. The systems are prepared according to a standard formula and then locked down for security reasons.

I imagine other people would be in similiar situations.

Sounds strict - but probably a good practice... and you're allowed to run SB on those machines?

I'm hoping for a new BeOS/Zeta/Haiku client that is up-to-date (2.5.0) real-soon... The current client is slower than windows/linux clients, and seems to crash on some newer athlon machines...

TeamHaiku (http://www.teamhaiku.org) at least deserves a Haiku-specific client right? ;)

I don't know if it's a global bug, but ever since I used the linux client, it segfaults every time it tries to connect the server and can't reach it (mostly happens when I'm not connected to the Internet), so obviously a new linux client would be appreciated
