I may be totally off-base on this, but I heard a while back where drugs would ultimately be made that targeted specific genetic differences. So, say, if you were getting too much, or too little, of a protein, they could tailor a drug that would help that individual. Obviously, the drug would have to work for anyone from thousands to millions of people to be worthwhile, but it's still an interesting approach.

Maybe Find-a-Drug could do something like this.

While that IS a possibility, new protein targets could become plentiful enough that they could decide to start up again. That's the main reason they stopped, they ran out of protein targets.

edit: Weird things going on on find-a-drug.org you can look at the NAMES of the topics, but when you click on one, you get knocked back to the home page.

Yo!

That project was closed down about January 2006. It's a wonder the site is even up.

Doubt they would ever run FaD back up again, though it doesn't mean THINK would run under something else (e.g. WCG or BOINC)

THINK is still used in various places by various people, for instance some american university is using a newer version to help bonding things to the Malaria (and maybe HIV) targets we found.

What you say may also be possible under the Rosetta code.

This Project has left the field.
Shame i really liked it.

The Framework was really good, very Pharmer friendly.
