Did anyone see this one recently on distributedcomputing.info?
http://www.physics.ox.ac.uk/cm/cmt/cuboid/
Cuboids is a physics project investigating the following question: If you roll a six-sided die with parallel faces but non-equal edge lengths, what is the probability of the die landing on each surface?
Stats are here (http://www.quantumholism.com/cuboid/data/UserStatistic.htm) but teams are not implemented.
I have a scout box checking it out.
suggestion
First name NIC, second name Free-DC.
NOTE: NIC = your folding name
Gotta get Free-DC in the stats somehow :)

Oops. I'm going to start another username.
Carlos
EDIT: What's the registry entry for this program? I can't create another username.
A file called
cbd_identifier.dat
Should be in c:\windows

Don’t know about you guys, but mine seem to be in a low gravity environment

Stats were updated.
Free-DC members:
PCZ
Carlos and Carlos Eduardo (that's me, asked Nick Jones to merge the two accounts)

AMD cpu's look to be King on this one.
Has anyone out there got an AMD dual core 4600+ or around that speed? Am looking to update some of my boxes and would like to know how must faster they are than a 3200XP Athlon

I'm running it too but I haven't appended Free-DC since I had already started when PCZ suggested it.
Maybe I'll create another account at some stage and request a merge.
Helix
4600+ is an excellent CPU much faster than your old XP 3200+ and they have 2 cores.
So youv'e seen the prices on overclockers.co.uk then ?
Strangely DABS are even cheaper.
Socket 939 or AM2 ?
If you have DDR RAM you can use i recommend Socket 939 your upgrades will be much cheaper.
Some would say it's an outdated Socket because of AM2 but all the current AMD's are outdated thanks to Intels new line up.
An AM2 setup will be almost as expensive as going Conroe which are the muts nuts.
OK who took my suggestion too literally and put NIC as first name :)
Unless of cousre your handle really is NIC then i opologise.
Should have made it NIC [Free-DC] and I could have done stats... :p
I still can and just have one team right now (parsing for Free-DC)...
Interest?

That was me but I only asked to add teams stats. I invited Danail Obreschkow to come here.
Carlos
It's only a short project [ends October] could be fun.
Thoughts everyone ?

What you need brackets :)
Wonder if this project could cope in the heat of battle.
Not that i had anything in mind of course :D

Bear in mind that (I think) they are "only" simulating one billion tosses.
This means that at the current total of 39,277,959 tosses, we are already just over 1/25th complete.
I was only jesting Helix. :jester:
Yes PM away.

well if Free-DC go crazy on this for the next two weeks, we will not be over taken.
Only needed brackets in case of other teams coming in, i.e.
$team =~ /[(.*?)]/;
:p
Done anyway....

You guys should check the stats page. Teams stats are almost there.
Carlos
Two lines of html with teams on it isn't 'nearly there' :lmao:
But if they implement them, I'll change the parser..

Just wait.
Carlos
Unfortunately the names aren't unique so I can't really do proper stats....
Danail Obreschkow is on there a number of times..
Carlos, can you perhaps ask them if they are using a unique id to hold the data internally, and if they can publish that id as a hidden field on each user on the webpage please?

I'll do that but it's getting too late here.
Update about the client. For new users: "if a new member starts the program, he/she will now find an entry "Team Name""
Carlos
The next question is can you run multiple clients with the same NIC.

Yes.
Bok,
He said he was not using such IDs. Is it to implement? Could you send him an email?

Seems it works with Linux&Wine, took me some tries though :jester:
hmm.. "wineserver" is taking 20-30 % of processing power, hmm..
