Hooray Goodwill!

I had to goto Goodwill today to help a friend pickup a desk and so I went and looked over in the monitors section.

I found a 19" Flat CRT (Dell Trinitron) BRAND NEW for $15. I went to a Goodwill that's in an extremely rich area so the stuff in there is always super new and gently used for very little money.

What shocked me the most is that I found a SECOND monitor that was identical also brand new! It looks like someone bought some new Dell PCs and decided to go with a better monitor and donated these!

I was in the right place at the right time and now I don't think I'll need a bigger monitor for quite awhile. :)

Sounds like a real nice visit to the store. I never find good stuff like that. But then again I can't go very often. Working on getting my DL and a car again.

About like the deal I got a couple of years ago. My buddy worked for a newspaper, and they had a large basement, where they stored 'garbage' (non-working equipment, old equipment, etc). We were walking through, and I saw a 21" Viewsonic 800G monitor, with the sticky film still on the front. I asked if I could have it, he said yes. We checked with the electrician, he said it had something burned out, but it was cheaper to just toss it than send it back.

I took it home, plugged it up, and lo and behold, 2 years later, it still works, though it has a slight flicker to it ;)

i use to bought my laser printer over there (here, it's another name but same goal).

i bought color laser for 100$ with toner at 50%

once the toner is used, i sell the printer on ebay for 100-150$ :blush:
