It's a sad day!!! Novell is buckling under to Microsoft, and jeopardizing Linux, in the process!!!

Gotta agree with you. All it looks like is yet another attempt by M$ to lauch yet another attack on Linux (opensource) this time with their IP collusion....
But there will always be alternatives cause there's a lot of people out there in the world. And if the linux world has to back up several "versions" to get back to something that M$ can't claim any IP interests on (and not saying that there are any at present) then I'm sure that the linux world will just back up and fork if necessary. And of course there's always the BSD variants too.
Too bad they don't put NT4 into the opensource/PD world. That would get them a bunch of good will, countless improvements in the security and growth of the O/S, and many more opportunities to sell their commercial applications. But to do that they would have to do a little thinking outside the box to use an old tired phrase. Vista just isn't going to sell the milions and millions and rejuvinate their O/S sales as they think. So they will just goe along their old way, continuing their attempts to erradicate linux in the faulty belief that everyone would switch over to buying their O/S.....
