Different Size HD in a Raid5

I have a HD failure in a RAID5 and am going to get a replacement. I think it's ok to get a larger size HD these days and it will just use upto the amount of the other drives right ?

This is for future upgrading of all the disks to a larger size..

It has been a few years since I had to do this but you are right. The new drive will only use up to the capacity of the older drives.

And depending on the Raid Controller, one might be able to resize the array to use the full capacity of the disks once all of them get resized. ;)
