View Full Version : different kind of benchmark from the one we have idea

Would it be possible for someone to make a benchmark utility that sits locally on a machine. It would basically do three things:

1) Track how long both it and Eon were simultaneously open, possibly cumulatively, like after a computer reset.

2) Track how many units have been completed, same kind of rules as in #1

3) Give some basic statistics based on these facts.

Possible statistics:

--How much work in last (hour, 6- 12- 24- hour period, week, month)

--How much work in last (hour, 6- 12- 24- hour period, week, month) that Eon was actually processing stuff(Might be a good way to tell how much time is being wasted.)

Average amount of work done per (minute, 6- 12- 24- hour period, week month) over an actual period over(pick a choice that's as big or bigger than the first choice[1- 6- 12- 24- hour period, week, month, year, more?])

After the actual tracking mechanism is developed, it would probably(famous last words) be a walk in the park to program analysis and print it to the screen. Maybe a text file?)

And after it's out of beta status, maybe a way to combine analysis files for an overall assessment? Perhaps a generated text file that is basically

[name of main account]
[a symbol to separate them other than a space]
[name of computer]
.txt

for the name.

and each file has some sort of unique identifier(but it would be obvious what it was because there would be some sort of identifier in the filename for the sake of the actual person. Maybe the first 3 letters of the file name would be 'eon')

Edit: Damn, wrong forum. I meant to put it in the main one.
