Wanting to build a dedicated dvr for the family

Guys, if a dvr had to be wireless and had to be able to transmit at least two recorded shows(compressed), approximately how fast would the wireless network have to be?

That's my first hurdle. My second hurdle is figure out what type of software I'm going to use.

low res medium quality, better quality it will struggle even at G, you'll need N for HD media.
