Hi all,

I need a camcorder with the ability to record something like 200-1000 frames per second or even more.

:eek: I don't think you will find anything in the consumer world that can handle that. Camcorders are designed to work with TV so generally 30 fps or less. You would probably have to look for a very expensive industrial/custom designed hardware for that if it even exists.

What are you going to use this for again?

I have heard of vary high speed cameras that are used in the film industry that hit 12000 fps They use theme for filming explosions
:umm: I am sure your talking .25 to .5 Mil for the rig

Forget the Bin Laden part.
My master thesis will be about dust explosions and ones occurs in less than 0.3 s. I would like to record the flame propagation, etc.

You could try using 4 Vid cams at the same time at the same point of reference
I am sure there frame rate will be out of sink
It would tale a bit of editing tho

Has anyone else at your school done explosions before? Maybe they have some suggestions.

I bet camcorder is out of the question, probably have to stick with high-speed photography.
