Since I restarted folding I decided to post some benchmarks for the new protein.

Distributed Folding Windows dfGUI v1.7 Benchmark

Sample Size : 425 structures over 363 seconds.
Protein Size: 138AA

Structures Per Second: 1.18
Structures Per Minute: 70.8
Structures Per Hour : 4250
Structures Per Day : 102000

OS : Microsoft Windows XP MHz: 1586
CPU: AMD Athlon(tm) processor
Client Switches: -df -qt -rt -p -1

That's the SunBlade I was thinking of buying! :( Even at 500Mhz it's underperforming an XP by at least 20K structures a day.

Wedge , try using the -qt option in windows. It should run faster but you won't get any visual output. If you want to see the progress use DFGui.

Chinasaur, My Sunblade 100 is a file server (420G) and it also doubles as my VPN system so it's not 100% DF. It's more of a desktop system that I'm running as a server. I need to upgrade the memory from 256M to 512M. That should help some.

I benchmarked my Foldtrajlite client manually and found that it folds 33,000 proteins in one day.

I am running a Power Mac G4 with a PowerPC 7400 chip at 466 MHz. The -rt switch is on, using the latest CASP protein. I have 384 MB RAM.
