Hi, has anyone used one of these??
http://www.kustompcs.co.uk/acatalog/info_5411.html
The card has just turned up, 'am waiting for my 12GB CF card to arrive.
They are bootable, and next year will see a big step up in speed. A poor mans SSD, but will have too see how good it is with a fast card.
Also very little power used, so good for home farmers!

Never heard of any. A couple of companies now have CF cards with UDMA access. Con MUCHO rapido!! :bigtrain:
Of course, you've got to have the hardware to take advantage of it. This board has it!
Oh yeah, and cheap? Oh yeah! CF cards be very cool. :smoking:
Thanks to Mr von Smelix to digging that one up. I may have to acquire some of these.
Just Google Addonics ADSAHDCF and you get a bunch of reviews & stuff.
32 bucks US. WOW! :|party|:
Freaking awesome. Here's the US linky http://www.addonics.com/products/flash_memory_reader/adsahdcf.asp

Yup, runs on 'leecy
Have a new card on order from the far east, they tell the op sys that the disk is not removable.
Other than that it is okay, no benchys yet.
Also going to use a copy of embedded XP and switch off the swap:thumbs:

I have a couple of these on order.
A fast SATA drive can run 80+ MB/sec in linear read.
Random reads drops that down to maybe 3 or 4 MB/sec.
Max on CF cards is currently around 45 MB/sec. with NO latency!
So as far as speed goes the question is, what percentage of your disk access is linear? These cards should be pretty zippy.

C'mon Helix and Paraima.
Full 6 page review with multiple benchmarks is required.

I'm workin' on it, already. Gimme a break. The hardware is here; just haven't had a chance to hook it all up.
In case you hadn't noticed, this is a fairly busy time of year for us merchant-class folks! :looney:
Holiday parties, senior portraits, family portraits for greeting cards... busy, busy, busy. My cameras and printers never get a chance to cool down.
Should be able to get you a review pretty soon, though. Hopefully, sometime in January.

What's up with it, Helix?
I've got a good start on CF card install, but just haven't had the time to complete the details. :bang:
