P4 speed problems!

Why is it my P4 1.6ghz runs eccp slower than my Duron 1ghz? I used the P4 optimized client, but it's still butt slow.

"A very long project was started to try to find ways to improve performance on the P4 and we now have a client that executes on a 1.5ghz P4 at approximately the same speed as a 800mhz P3. While this isn’t fantastic, it certainly beats the performance of the original ECCp109 client!" - from Jay Berg's website.

P4's aren't the best choice for this project. If you want to know all the technical details, Jay posted his progress to the official Yahoo! ECCp forum, while he wrote and updated the P4 client.

Yeah I had read that, but I figured it would still be faster than the Duron. Actualy I think it is still a little faster than my Duron, but not much at all.
