Just curious...

2001guy and Brian the Fist: What computers are you two deploying for this project? I see 2001guy has a narrow lead on Brian (a.k.a. Howard) and thought that lead would have widened by now. Howard, you bring some more online to try to close the gap with 2001guy?

Jodie, I see you about a half a lap behind the above two but still plugging away. Saw you jump up in the rating, but then not much progress on catching up to the top two after that.

And for that matter, what are the rest of you in the Top Ten packing as well? :)

Not that my flower-pot computer farm (one 500Mhz Dell computer) threatens any of you.

Then again, my computer farm project just might. ;) We're still working out the bugs on it and am currently in discussions with the people in charge of a nearby closed-down military base and its local power company about it. :D Wish us luck!

IRC from the early days , Howard said he had a 250 station linux cluster or some such firepower

I am running mostly P4 1.6 ghz Dells, now with 512 megs of RAM (since the -rt switch made lots a memory a must). The number of machines varies between 30 to over 100 depending upon which projects require attention at the moment.

:rotfl: lol@mad! :rotfl:

Don't make me crack-open a whole six pack of Timex Sinclairs on you!!! :swear:

I was running my personal hundred-ish XP1600 and XP1700's, the office 32xP3-1.4Ghz Server (IBM), and some misc. junk.

I needed to move to a larger space with better cooling (was loosing power supplies like crazy) - so I was down for awhile.

As-of tonight, I have 50 XP1700's back online. And I'm bringing up another 20 XP2000's in the next couple of days. Then we'll see if I can get the IBM back for awhile...

50 machines is scarcely the price of admission around here anymore...

Took a hundred and twenty processors to consistantly kick M2k's butt... :( :swear: :haddock:

I'm running 6 machines.

Oh, nobody asked. Sorry !

Mind you, even my pacemakers overclocked ... 87 beats per minute.

Beat that ( literally ).

Andy

I have 260 machines mostly PIII 667 and PIII 450. They are about to be upgraded within the next few months to 2.2Ghz P4's. But as I do F@H as well as DF it will only mean a double in output, but still I should be hard to beat then:D

Don't believe M2k1guy. Some have seen his true DC farm. Dells? Ha. In reality he has cornered the used Commodore 64 market and is running thousands of the little grey beasts from a specially constructed, cryogenically-cooled warehouse somewhere in Argentina.

Jodie is just pissed as she has had to settle for VIC-20s arranged in a similar fashion. Sadly, I am betting on Jodie as her software porting skills are rumored to be better.

I think he might just be using Amiga 500's but the lack of adequate cooling slows down his folding and gives him Guru Meditation Alerts:jester:

I just wish I could overclock my TI-35's.

I dunno if I currently qualify as a "big gun" but I guess I'm a bit unorthodox in that my numbers, rather than coming from a large personal or work farm (I'm a poor college student and only own 2 boxen) but from a network of nerdy (like me:D) friends who are willing to crunch for me. Currently it's 3 roommates and one of their siblings, 1 or 2 friends from school, my parents, etc. My job then becomes to keep them interested and hooked on *our* stats to keep them crunching and alert for new borg opportunities :jester:

What that about the occassional borging of that cluster? ;)

But, yeah, if you take the people you know, you can get 10-12 ghz pretty easily. I make the DC usage my payment for fixing the computers of people I know when they screw them up (which they always do). Too bad I can't install DF the way I want it on win9x boxen. Oh well. Other projects and I have my home farm on DF, so it all works out. :)

TI-99/4a's...they are monsters. Problem is that I keep having to clean the heads on my cassette-tape drives...:bang:

You're all so lucky - got all kinds of fancy new mechanical aids to do all the hard work!

I fold with my bare hands and I think I'm doing pretty good - I hope I get the rest of the family to help me soon, then I would be able to generate a lot more structures since I have a big family :p :D
