We have an extremely fast protein and our lead could get cut to nothing in a week if we don't get all the FreeDC crunchers pounding on this one.

Ars TSF fired the first salvo by posting 16M structures at first update to our 6M..KWSN posted 8M structures at same update.

WE NEED YOUR HELP!!! BEG YOUR FRIENDS. BORG YOUR NEIGHBORS BOXEN!!

THIS IS NOT A DRILL. CONVERT ALL YOUR BOXES TO Distributed Folding RIGHT NOW!!!!

I guarantee your home projects will be paid back with cycles when we get back to normal in two weeks and start crunching known slow proteins again.

Download the client here:

Install it to c:\distribfold or where ever...

Go into that directory and do the following:

Create a file called handle.txt and put in the nickname they sent you via email and save it
Create a file called autoupdate.cfg and put a 1 in it and save it.

edit the foldit.bat file (assuming windows OS here)...

If you have 256mb of ram at least,
Find this line
.\foldtrajlite -f protein -n native
and change it to
.\foldtrajlite -f protein -n native -df -rt

Else If you don't have the memory, you can try it anyways,
at least change it to this (this caches the WUs in the event the Server can't be reached)
.\foldtrajlite -f protein -n native -df
and save it
Now run foldit.bat
You will show up in the stats within 1 hour

You will need to login to your personal page with the handle you got and the password you entered during registration, here:

Argh, one-manned teams drive me crazy, its just pointless. The definition of 'team' in the dictionary next to me (i didnt like dict.org's definition :p) is, "a group of players forming one side in a competitive game or sport". Correct me if I'm wrong but one player != a group of players.

So far I owe proc time to ECCp...what FreeDC team has converted boxes to DF?
