Quick summary for all the kiddies. We're doing real well, especially considering how far behind we are on members and nodes. But we can't let those crazy Italians get to much furthur ahead than they already are. We need more people!!!!!

Here's some stats.

I will try to add more nodes ASAP so we can increase output.

Hey Aphex. You're doing a good job already. Of course if you've got more boxen let's have em. ;)

Nah, it's one box wonders like me that have to pull their fingers out. I set up an XP1600+ just now for a friend. They have no idea about computers. I wonder how long it'll take them to work out what that funny little icon means that'll find it's way onto their computer tomorrow. :D

Actually I am just a one box wonder too. I have a few more that sit idle logging things. They can pump some more out and I will put on my 1.7mhz at home and put it on my wife's machine. :D

Damn straight we need more members Marzio. I wish I knew where they were going to come from though. :(

Good stuff from you though Aphex. That's a nice spell of box borging you got into the last few days. You'll be gunning for the top spot with that lot. :D :D

Kudos should go to starlight as well for being our team leader in the stats and being triple the output and current score to the next best. :D :D :D

Big raspberry to IronBits and Chas for not producing even a single sausage over the last week. :( ;)

Okay, so for your viewing pleasure and my complete frustration for the next quater of an hour, here's some stats.

Looks like Ars lost a couple of people. They had 8 on the team last time I checked. Wish they would join up with us.

Great job on the stats badsac!

I look horrible there in last place! :(
Makes me wanna go out and spend all my money on more boxes. :)

Seeing as how I only have one computer, I'm gonna let DDOL run a few more hours each day. Maybe I can catch up to you badsac! :D

Crunch on!

badsac

Thanks starlight! :D

I really don't think TFY will survive over at Ars. Nobody is interested at all. With any luck a few might come over eventually.

Hey CSMan, I don't think you've got a morgage on that bottom spot yet. You produced more than me last week, so if you're not careful you'll be passing me sooner or later. I'll have to comandeer some more friends computers if that trend continues. ;) What kind of machine are you running?

Somebody tell me where I can get actual stats (you know, that has user names instead of nodes) and I will run stats for Free-DC in Sengent as well. Just point me to a URL, and I'll see what I can do.

Badsac: I'm running a lowly PIII-800.
But, DDOL isn't on 24/7 though.
I'll have to keep an eye on the weekly production.

Some stats would be great! Then we could see how badly we're losing to those Italians. :)

badsac
01-13-2002, 08:45 PM
Hey DP. I would so much appreciate you doing some stats. (Doing them by hand sucks). But I don't think the way they've got things organised at the minute will let you. You can do stats for most of us within the top 100, but you'll be leaving out CSMan and me. I've done a post over at Sengent asking for a plain text page with all users on it. Hopefully they'll implement that soon. ;)

Chas, nah you're right. Just having a cheap shot. Kick some arse in Seti, then poke a box or two back one day when you can. :D

CSMan, hehe. So you're being beat out by a guy who's running the client for about 14 hours a day on a Celery433. Can you live with that? :p ;)

CSMan
01-14-2002, 10:15 AM
lol badsac. No I can't live with that, which is why I'm going to let it run for a few more hours each day. :D
I usually close it when I want to play games and stuff, because of it's large memory requirements. I hope Sengent can trim it down some.

badsac
01-14-2002, 08:53 PM
Yeah, she is a bit big. You'll just have to stop having so much fun if you want to put me in my place. :D

CSMan

Hmm... have fun or put badsac in his place? So hard to decide! :)
I'm gonna give it all I've got. We'll see how it goes.

Okay kiddies. Some more stats. We did real well these last 2 days. Only the Italians outproduced us. With the adition of Supp, and starlight, Aphex, and Skygod producing so much, (not to mention CSMan and me kicking arse :p) we'll get those Germans yet.

Hereya,

CSMan, I think you could have plenty of fun putting me in my place. :D

Have you actually tried to play games with D2OL running? Not that I guess it matters. D2OL isn't going to get processor while your playing so theres no point leaving it on. Unless you don't wait for a candidate to finish before turning it off?

CSMan
01-17-2002, 10:50 AM
Well badsac, I did a few more than you yesterday, but for the week I'm still behind. Just gotta keep crunchin' along! I'll catch up eventually. :p

I fired up UT the other day and I didn't notice a real slow down or anything. But I think UT is a bit outdated so I'll have to try a couple other games and see how it works.
I have, a few times, just exited the client without thinking. I'm sure that wasn't a good thing. If it doesn't slow me down at all when I play a game, then I don't care if it's not getting any cpu time. Then at least I won't lose all the conformers I've processed.

badsac
01-17-2002, 11:03 PM
Hehe. This is going to be a long drarn out struggle if you're only going to pick me up 3 candidates per day. Have you got enough patience? Of course you could slip a certain little program onto all your mates machines. That would sort me out pretty quick. :D

I lose quite a bit of work myself. I've got my computer in the same room I sleep in, so I have to turn it off everynight. I'm always losing work that way. I'm the last one who can afford that as well. :(

CSMan
01-18-2002, 06:06 PM
Patience? What's that!? :D
I would love to put D2OL on some friends and family computers, but it takes up a bit too much memory for me to do that. I put G@H on my dad's computer the other day, but I took it off because he complained that it slowed the rest of his computer down.

I know have the client running 24/7 so that should help some, but it's only getting 50% of the cpu since I'm running genome too. But hey, every little bit helps!

badsac
01-19-2002, 02:22 AM
Good stuff CSMan. You're right. Every little bit helps. Just to give you a break, I'm laying off D2OL for the duration of the Seti gauntlet over at Ars. I've got to run with the rest of the dogs one more time. If you look like you're catching me a little to quickly though, I'll have to take other measures to keep you in your place. You wont want me to do that though. ;)

CSMan
01-24-2002, 11:46 AM
I'm catchin' up to you fast badsac! :)
What might these "other measures" be?

badsac
01-24-2002, 09:12 PM
Look at you go CSman! You're kicking some arse now. Looks like I'll have to be taking those "other measures" sooner than I hoped. This is going to cost me. :(

ColinT

I joined D2OL with one tbird. The thing refuses to run Ubero today. I must give it something to do until I can get it running again.

ColinT
01-30-2002, 06:46 PM
It also refuses to run D2ol. I am having trouble with it.

ColinT
01-30-2002, 06:58 PM
I reinstalled Java. Ubero would not run, but D2OL seems to be working. It did 7 conformers so far.

IronBits
01-30-2002, 08:31 PM
Now yer talking Colin :D

ColinT
01-30-2002, 09:04 PM
It occurs to me that since D2OL is a Java based program, it would benefit from the research we've done on Java at Ubero.

Faster Java == faster client.

badsac
01-30-2002, 09:36 PM
Good on yer Colin. Don't be to hasty in getting Ubero back up and running though. ;)

ColinT
01-30-2002, 10:17 PM
About that screwy box, I am waiting for inspiration. Something will come to me.

If necessary I will wipe the drive and reinstall. I've done that a few times

:D

About the Sengent client. Does it use Java for the GUI only? Is there a C program doing the crunching?

badsac
01-31-2002, 12:26 AM
To tell the truth, I'm not sure. There's been conflicting reports. But I'm under the impressiong that portability was always a big priority with the client, so they might have done both in java. I'll have to go check over at Sengent.

ColinT
02-07-2002, 02:26 PM
I've moved my boxes to D2OL until Ubero can get it's act together. DP is running D2OL also.

Darkness Productions
02-07-2002, 08:03 PM
Yup... I'm on with one box so far. I wonder if there's a way to make it take up a little less VRAM... This client is killing my box at work. I'll try it on another box here at home. Hopefully I can help out and push us into 2nd... how close are we?

ColinT
02-07-2002, 08:17 PM
Last I looked, we were in 5th. maybe JT can do something about that. [[hint]]

Darkness Productions

Well, count me up an additional 2GHz... I moved Kicker and another katmai over. It took forever to get Kicker to take the install tho... punk :D Let's get to number 1!!!
