High RAM projects? [Archive]

I've been looking at the price of RAM, and I intend to buy and install 8 GB of RAM in my 2.4GHz Intel E6600 quad-core.

My problem is that the only projects I can think of that benefit from huge amounts of RAM are math projects(fun, but man does not live on bread alone), The Lattice Project, and those freakishly long Climate Prediction work units.

So, can anyone help me think of projects that would benefit from a huge amount of RAM?

BURP - Big Ugly Rendering Project has been using 1.6GB RAM per task recently.

I know P-1 and ecm stuff can benefit from a lot of RAM too.

anybody know of anything else?

Unless your running a 64-bit OS, you will only see about 3.2GB of that 8GB of ram.

I'm running 64-bit Fedora 9, which is Linux, at the moment.
