DF has been running on my RH 8.0 system now for close to 24hrs with no problem. Where can I get the benchmark script? ... Chokin on your dust at the moment!

You were wanting the benchmark script? Look here (http://www.free-dc.org/forum/showthread.php3?s=&threadid=855) ! :D
Then that's good, probably there is no much change in the internal of the RedHat 8.0.
Eeeeh, why am I getting results way better than other machines reported on that thread?!

If you're trying to show speed differences between the various distributions - wouldn't it be more helpful to grab stats from similar machines (same brand of cpu, same family of cpu, same speed rating?)

That thread was done in the middle of May, we now happen to be running a faster protein. Plus there is the option to run with the a lot more RAM using the -rt switch which is about a factor of 2.
