Hi all, I used to post here as BNS when Free-DC first opened - but never could get folding@home to do what I wanted at the time so I sort of 'disappeared'

Well, I'm back under a new handle and with a new project to contribute to.

Only 1350 Mhz though, I hope it's enough.

Welcome back, starkebn!

Enough? What's enough? We need all the crunchers we can get!

Fold on! :D

Thanks, time to start checking stats 4 times a day (will that be enough?) (;

There is no too much or not enough. It is more a state of mind.

Need to come up with a better cooling solution. My AMD 1GHz has been pegged all day folding, and the temp was over 56C. Soon as I stopped, temp is down to 47C and the monitoring software is much happier.

Starkebn... you'll prolly catch me now!

I just learnt something new, don't change your organisation to be a blank field - looks like it hasn't registered my production for the last day or so after doing that.

Looks like you'll be staying ahead for a while longer Hannah.

If you change either, you look like a new person to the stats engine. Your stats are still OK and your production still counts, it just doesn't show the 24 & 72 hour averages until they build back up. ;)

That is absolutely true, but it should change after the next protein updaten, when the stats will provide some kind of unique ID. Then changing username or organisation shouldn't affect 3rd party stats any more.

I would have thought it would just use your ID.

Silly me.

The ID youre talking about (the handle consisting of random letters and numbers) is the projec'ts primary way to identify accounts uniquely, is available only to the DF staff, and is not accessible to stats engines, to protect the privacy of the users. Howard and co will be adding another unique ID for the stats engines next release. Previously there was no way for 3rd party stats engines to uniquely identify anyone, but now there will be. And I hear Dyyryath will be cooking up some cool stuff for us when that happens :)

gives me a bit of catch up time at least, although I don't know if I'll be able to make it all the way past you.
