Good evening to all Free-DC'ers,
I have been floating around the distributed computing teams to checkout which team I want to join. I want to get a feel about the members here.
What are the goals of Free-DCs teams?
What projects are you concentrating on?
I noticed you are #4 in the DC Vault, is there any motivation to move higher?
THanks for any answers,
Delburt

What are the goals of Free-DCs teams?
To be happy crunchers in our favorite project(s)
What projects are you concentrating on?
We have been mainly focus on OGR recently as the project is just about finished.
I noticed you are #4 in the DC Vault, is there any motivation to move higher?
We are always hoping to climb the ladder in each project. Sometimes we can, sometimes we can't, but we try hard to do so.
Good to have you drop by. If you have any other questions, we'll be more than happy to help you setup your hardware if necessary, and to configure what ever project you want to run.

The Free part of the team name means that anyone who affliates themselves with us is free to crunch what they like. We all have our favourite projects.
Sometimes we have pushes or gauntlets on certain projects like we did on SoB and most recently OGR.
We are a small and freindly team with plenty of DC knowledge.
Everyone is welcome, the more GHZ we have the more we can "put it about"

Welcome! Find a project you like and start crunching! If you need any help getting setup, one of us will be happy to assist you.

I'll 3rd / 4th / 5th that..
Okay here's the thing that is Free-DC
There is a few rules we all try and follow..
1) Crunch what you like, it's the science / research that matters. If the project starts to give you grief say and if everyone having problems switch temporarily to something else..
2) If someone yells for help on a particular project help if you want, but only if you want, no pressure.
3) If you've got a problem, share, a problem shared is a problem halved..
4) Have fun crunching, don't crunch because you feel you must...
5) If someone else has a problem, help them out no matter what team they are in - it helps build good relations with other teams
We always try and strive to be #1 I mean what team doesn't want to be #1 in some project when it ends..
Oh yeah and ask any on any team forum where they look to for the best statage output, and it comes right back to here (http://stats.free-dc.org/stats.php?page=index).
That is all..
Slides ya a  from the fridge..
PY don't worry I've got another couple of cases to go in since well I've decided it's my turn to stock it..
