Okay Folks, we are in middle, but almost complete, note ALMOST here please we may take them live and see what breaks..

What's new in the stats, well a few of the things have crept through already the nice new shiny charts for one.
Now as to what's actually new, well the page should load faster for a start as all the elements are basically known and it's no longer one big table with lots of little bits it's a few floating "div's" with the info inside, and graphics edited to suit the new design which supports the "themes" we've done properly.

Also the team names, user names and team descriptions now display properly any non ascii character like the french ç and è for example as well as chinese characters like "台灣團隊" instead of a load of odd characters like you have seen before.
Oh and yes the sidebar floats I removed the thick black line around it, think it looks nicer..

The only think I will say is this was designed primarily on FF 2/3 and IE 7. We have tried to code it for IE 6 and older but I can't say for certain if it's 100% due to the Quirkiness of IE pre 7 where it at least understood a complient things.

If you think there is something missing from the current stats let us know in this thread and we'll see what we can do.

Oh and just like the user tags we've also done team tags for the overall team stats as an image we'll put that some place and let you know how it works soon (if someone's not already done this of course)..

So much re-coding, so little time..

I've added in a poll to this so as to guage what ever one who looks at these stats uses, I know it's not very comprehensive list and yes I meant for IE to be in there twice as IE 7 or newer understands things the same way as FireFox.
I've got FF3 and IE6 on mine at both work and home.

I test most browsers on a regular basis so: Firefox, Opera, Safari, Chrome, K-Meleon etc. all on XP.

nOT USED STATS4(?) much but I noticed it doesn't link like I expect. I get to a team page, click a link and it goes to a main world teams page and personal page is similar. Not a complaint but a comment by someone not using stats pages regularly. I did find ways to do what I want but it took some work as links aren't always obvious and don't seem to logical to me. Not the best of technical explanation and sorry if this ain't the right thread but thought I'd pass the comment on while doing something else and while I partly remember my frustration (at myself probably more than the stats).

stats4 is not what will be going live. We aren't actively developing that one any more and it's broken in places.

Yeah Shish, we've been sneaky and hidden it slightly a select few testers know of it :D..

We may just update stats4 with all the updates we've done, maybe...

I have a horizontal scroll in a 1024 resolution. (((

please make rightmost column smaller.

also "&theme=X" lost when clicking at project or team link.

The theme is not carried across the pages - i'll see if I can get that fixed
the horizontal scroll issue, I run at 1024 as well a notch up on my home machine and I still get the scroll thing, it's the contents of the page I'd need to redo all the dynamic generated pages to stop this..
Oh just a side note - I only have 1 thing to fix on IE6 so it looks the same as FF, it looks like 2 things but it's 1...

Okay well we've been working on this a while before this announcement and we've decided to skip the additional step of testing it on stats4
It's going live as of now, we do hope nothing breaks in the change over..

In IE6 the center frame looks offset to the screen at 1280x768

It's left justified.

I agree though that I'd prefer it to be all centered.

I'm one effectively 3300x2560 and it can look odd if I stretch the browser out.

Gopher is going to take a look at it at some point.

Fixed the tag.

Not sure why Gopher moved it, I'm sure he'll answer that one :)

Gopher, it was in the to-drop folder for some reason

whoops must have moved it there by mistake...
IE 6 is a royal pia to code for, I had to fix the width as it doesn't understand the css "min-width" property, without the width it looks worse believe me.

I am going be adding in new code to detect browser window width and try and adjust content accordingly - the stats work that's all I'm bothered about they've been re-written and work...

no worries... there was a couple of other files I took out too. They are specific files for other teams I wrote for them :)

Who in their right mind uses IE6 these days anyway? Surely anyone half-interested in DC stats probably knows how to install IE7 or run Firefox (or others).

If it were me I don't think I'd bend over backwards to ensure IE6 compatibility.

And you're happy about running a web browser which over 7 years old? I sure as hell wouldn't be.

From Wikipedia:

As of January 10 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/January_10), 2009 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2009), Secunia reports 142 vulnerabilities in Internet Explorer 6, 22 of which are unpatched, some of which are rated moderately critical in severity[5] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_Explorer_6#cite_note-4).

From Wikipedia:
I have no problems with IE6 it is Fast, Stable, Compatible with all pages I load
and does NOT have frames which I hate to the 10 th power
What is it about IE6 that you hate so Much alpha:Pokes:
And as for it being secure I do not seem to need it

I tried the stats page with Firefox and on the same monitor with the same res. 1280x720 with IE6 it is to the left
But with firefox it is centered But I have a Horizontal scroll bar so the page does not fit on 1 screen
Even the colors are different and I do like the ones in firefox. I like IE6 better
All browsers have there own glitches and :brainfart:
So do not condemn me for using what works well for me :Pokes:

Almost confusing to combine a poll *with* a question ... LOL!

Bok, I am having problems with the now *not* "clickable" Total Credit column that is on the far right. It makes it very difficult to track milestones (the ones we already have wait to long of a time fpr a Team as small as ours. I really wish milestones were recognized every 5,000 Total Credit.

Anyway Sir, The Total Credit column in now not "clickable". I hope that you can fix this. As for browsers, I use both the newest version of FireFox and Opera.

Hear is our Free-DC stats page for Team Andrax:

Thank You!

Good spot. Fixed that.

As for milestones. It's just a case of balancing it. The more milestones we track the more cpu is used during the stats update. But I'll look into adding some more, especially on the low end.

Ouch I broke it, yup, can't make my Team Stats across projects link work. I have banged my head, and even took a walk in 17°F weather (short walk, finished early, needed to warm fingers on keyboard).

The fickle is that right side entry box that requests [Click to Update Team's ID's] stuff I can't find, figure out, find a solution for, or just stop pulling the hair out of my greying beard~!

I am frazzled, frustrated, and bescheveled ( PA Amish word meaning confused beyond imagination). So here I am :Pokes:

Nflight, answered via email...

I will add some wording to the effect that when you add those id's it's not immediate. It requires an admin to approve them first otherwise anybody could change the id's for any team..

admins have some extra options on the left hand side links to do these type of things so it typically should not take too long...

I've accepted the ones you put in now.
