Hey,
I'm trying to get my PCs to run SB on both cores, from the forums I read that I should run 'two copies', I don't really get what that means, so I just opened the same client twice, turned out they just doing the same tests, no apparent extra benefits.
So I installed a second version of SB, now both installations were doing the same test again, but a brand new one so 2 weeks of calculations were lost.
After uninstalling the 2nd installation the work is still lost (lost for good?).
I'm no computer freak, and don't understand *why* I should have to hunt around to figure this out.
So please tell me, as a stupid windows user what I should do, any response along the lines of: "execute -r 4390:something" should ideally explain how the heck I run a command :p
Sorry for my ignorance on this.
Cheers,
Ben.

Edit, yes from this tutorial (http://www.free-dc.org/forum/showthread.php?t=7434) I cann see that the test is truly gone.
PS. I'm not a complete computer illiterate, in fact I've worked as a JavaScript programmer for two years now, but I feel that this whole system should be more user friendly for people not familiar with regular compiled apps.

Did you read the post about how to get the most out of a quad?
http://www.free-dc.org/forum/showthread.php?t=13304
using the command:

sobsvc -p:5:3:0:0:0:0:1

yours would be something like
sobsvc -p:2:3:0:0 < that will fire up 2 clients 1 per core and they should get 1 WU each..

Also what OS you running windows or *nix?

Great Sticky about multi-core *nix installs

Hi gopher,
Sorry I don't mean to be rude but I feel that you didn't read my post fully.
I'm a windows user, but never have had any experience having to enter commands or nothing, I'm all gui. So how do I run this command? And once its done will it work every time I reload the application?
Cheers,
Ben.

Ah a windows user right..
Have you fully read the readmeNT.txt that tells you exactly what to do to get it to run accross x-cores..
start>run>
sobsvc -i to install the service
service.msc to get to the services panel here you can tweak when if starts automatically on boot
sobsvc -k to have it display the tray icons so you can see how it's doing.
There is a monitor tool that will monitor and tell you in a browswer window without needing to run the sobsvc -k

Oh wow, can't believe it, I read the other two readmes and found nothing of use so kind of figured the answers wouldn't be there.
Thankyou very much for your prompt, helpful response gopher_yarrowzoo.
Cheers,
Ben.
